With four slots in the top 10 most selling PS4 games, this game franchise proves that it fears no competitors in the first-person shooting game genre. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was first released in 2007, and it quickly became a boom among first-person shooting game community. At that moment, almost all other first-person shooting games featured World War II theme and plot. That theme was fun for multiplayer mode, but then too many titles with that theme made the theme boring. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (published by Activision with Infinity Ward as the developer) brought gamers with modern era wars and modern equipment: high-tech weapons, advanced drones and tanks …
But the thing that created the difference between Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and other first-person shooting titles was its awesome single-player plot. The plot of this title was truly well-made, with a lot of accusations for the War on Terror (started by the US) alongside the plot. This plot featured a lot of shocking moments, as well as a lot of great characters, namely Captain Price.
The multiplayer mode of this title was already really smooth at that moment. Modern weapons with laser scopes, the signature killstreaks have really “level up” the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, in comparison with other first-person shooting games in 2007. All the above things have turned this title into a world-class masterpiece of the first-person shooting genre.
Is this Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 a sequel?
While Modern Warfare 2 and 3 were both direct sequels of the 2007 title, this Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 is somewhat of a reboot for the 2007 title. In this 2019 title, we will see the returns of some familiar characters (like Captain Price character we have mentioned above). This time, the story for the single-player mode will be much darker than then 2007 title’s story.
To be fair, this is a very reasonable thing. There are no exact right – wrong things in wars, and any war-related contents (including video games) have to be dirty if they want to be realistic. Captain Price has said himself: "We get dirty, so the world stays clean."
Throughout the plot of the game, you will be playing on both sides of the war, so you will get to see the war from both viewpoints. By playing in Team Bravo side (the Western soldiers) as well as freedom fighters side (the Middle East soldiers), you will have a true look of how wars affect all people in or near the combat zone. The developer of this 2019 title is Infinity Ward, and this game developer is famous for giving its players moral choices in the game. We can’t say for you, but we are already really hyped right now.
What kind of gameplay for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019?
To be honest, we have not known much about the gameplay of this title (besides it will be a first-person shooting game, of course). The trailer of the game has not revealed much about the gameplay, it just had some cut scenes. We will certainly see more about this title, especially its gameplay since it has been confirmed for E3 this year.
What kind of maps will there be in the 2019 title?
At this moment, we are not exactly sure about this yet. This 2019 title will feature the Russian involvement in the Middle East as the game center, with terrorists’ strikes all across European cities. London looks like to be featured in the game, and you can even see the Metropolitan Police uniform in the trailer.
No multiplayer gameplay has been shown to us yet, so no confirmation for the maps in this mode. But we can figure out some information already. The key areas of the game will likely be maps in multiplayer mode. London is quite certainly, and look at the right above picture, it really looks like Nuketown, doesn’t it?
Will there be a Zombies Mode in this Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019?
No, there will not. Treyarch game developer (bought by Activision in 2001) is famous for “non-Modern Warfare” CoD titles. But this is a game by Infinity Ward. And in an interview, Jacob Minkoff - Campaign Gameplay Director – has confirmed this:
"We're trying to create an authentic, realistic feeling world. We don't have the flexibility to do something like put zombies in the game." he went on to say that zombies "...would compromise the feeling of playing in a world that feels realistic and authentic and relative to today's conflicts and things we face."
What game modes will be in the 2019 title?
All game modes confirmed for this title up to this moment are single-player campaign mode, co-op campaign mode, and multiplayer mode. Infinity Ward is seemingly not willing to share any more information about the game modes in this Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. There might even be a Battle Royale mode for the game, but we will have to wait until E3 this year to know more.
How can I get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 will be officially released on October 25, 2019, and the pre-order of this title has been officially opened as well (the website for this title and the pre-order is really well-designed, so check it out now).
