With 2019 coming to an end, here is our pick for the best trailer of this decade.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations

Featuring “Iron” by Woodkid, Assassin’s Creed Revelations is an amazing trailer contains a mix of triumphant brass and brooding percussion, matching perfectly with the fast-paced action. As Ezio grinding through waves upon waves of soldiers, he detects the ghostly illusion of the original protagonist, Altair. Revelations is the finale to the storyline of Ezio Auditore, and the trailer is one of the biggest hype creators, with its wonderful mix of grit and magic.

Dead Island

The trailer for this game did a poor job of conveying the gameplay, but it is actually pretty good at creating hype. It pretty much lied to players: the game is not really an emotional survival story – it was just about killing zombies to get loot. When the thing was dropped, it instantly gathered the attention of pretty much everyone. This effectiveness is the reason why Dead Island’s trailer gets included in this list.

Star Wars: The Old Republic

Star Wars: The Old Republic’s trailer pretty much shit on the Disney Star Wars movies, as it contains some of the best lightsaber and force fights ever seen in all Star Wars media. It was a huge success, painting a picture of a galactic war against the Sith Empire on a scale that no movie has ever shown before. More trailers of the same quality would follow this one, however, this is still the best. Bioware put a lot of effort into those trailers back then.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

This trailer signaled the revival of Final Fantasy 14, one of the worst MMO at release. After the trailer, FF14 was completely fixed from the ground up. The story of the game’s revival is definitely one of the best redemption arcs of the decade.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

Witcher trailers are usually of top tier quality, however, this trailer from the second game takes the cake. A mixture of bloody realism and high magic, the trailer has done its best to hype the game and showcase the ability of the viper witcher, which would be the main enemy in this sequel. The amazing display of swordplay and magic of Letho is one of the most beautiful scenes in the whole witcher series.
