To grab a pet in GTA Online, buy a mansion first. Los Santos has three fancy properties, so check their prices and choose wisely. Once you own the safehouse, check the living room for a Catbed on the table. Interact with it to buy a cat. For a dog, head to the backyard and interact with the doghouse. All three mansions have it.

After purchase, name your pet anything you like. Pick from different breeds and colors too. They all cost $15,000.
