After a bit of a wait, Xbox Series X|S users can finally add GTA 6 to their wishlist and check out its store page. Right after the second GTA VI trailer dropped, Rockstar Games got the PlayStation Store page up and running for PS5 users to wishlist the game. Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, mentioned that Xbox wishlisting was coming “soon.” It took about seven weeks, but it’s finally here for Xbox fans.

The update for GTA VI has Xbox players pumped, feeling like the game is getting real and closer to release.

On Wednesday morning, Rockstar Games launched the GTA 6 Xbox Store page. You can see it on Xbox consoles or the website. The page shows off the artwork from the second trailer, some screenshots, both trailers, and a description of the game.

How to Wishlist GTA 6 on Xbox

The purchase button on the store page is grayed out and says “Not Currently Available,” but the wishlist button works fine. Hit it, and the game gets added to your Xbox wishlist. Easy as that.

How to Install It / Download Size?

The store listing shows a download size of 328.76 MB, but that’s just a placeholder file, which is pretty standard for pre-load or pre-order files.

Xbox Store Listing 1

You can download this 328.76 MB file to your console now through the Xbox app. Head to the game’s store page in the app, and if your console is linked, you’ll see an option to install it. You can check out images of it downloading and installing on Xbox Series X|S below.

This file just sits there until pre-loading starts. Once pre-loading kicks off closer to launch, it’ll automatically download the full game.

If you try to hit the “Play” button, you’ll see the Trailer 2 artwork for a second before the game closes and pops up an error saying, “Do you own this game or app?” You’ll have to wait until May 26 to actually play. Check out the opening and splash screen in action below.

There’s no specific time listed on the store for when the game will go live. The PlayStation Store says it’ll be playable at 12 AM BST, as we mentioned earlier.

Pre-orders Soon?

Normally, when a game’s release date is set, pre-orders open up on digital stores. But that’s not happening yet with GTA VI. It’s up to the publisher to flip the switch, and with about a year to go, it makes sense they’re holding off.

There’s probably more marketing coming, maybe even a third trailer, over the next 12 months. They’ll likely make a big deal about pre-orders when the time comes, maybe toward the end of the year.
