Rockstar Games has unlocked a major new chapter for GTA Online fans. The studio just launched the Rockstar Mission Creator, a powerful in-game toolkit that lets anyone craft fully playable missions from scratch. Players can now build narrative driven adventures complete with custom objectives, scripted NPC behavior, cinematic cutscenes, and explosive finales for up to eight players at once.
The tool arrived as part of the A Safehouse in the Hills update back in December 2025. Rockstar is shining a spotlight on it this week with the debut of the Community Mission Series. This new program highlights the best player made content and turns it into official in-game experiences available to everyone on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC Enhanced versions.

First Featured Community Mission
The first featured creation is called Old School Hits. Built by the popular YouTube channel GTA Series Videos, it draws direct inspiration from the original Grand Theft Auto trilogy. Rockstar is rewarding players who complete it with 4X GTA$ and RP bonuses starting April 30 for a limited time.
How to Create Your Own Missions
Creating missions is straightforward. Open the Pause Menu in GTA Online, head to Online, then Rockstar Creator, and select Create a Mission. After agreeing to the Community Guidelines, creators gain access to an extensive set of tools. They can set dynamic objectives, control actor behavior for enemies and allies, and incorporate new interior locations such as the USS Luxington Aircraft Carrier deck, the Cluckin Bell Factory, and various banks across the map.
To help newcomers get started, Rockstar added five official tutorial missions inside the Creator. These cover everything from basic secure and deliver jobs to advanced stealth extractions and multi choice story branches. Creators can play them directly from the Jobs Menu or edit them as templates for their own ideas.
Endless Creative Possibilities

The potential is huge. One example mission could begin with a tense hostage negotiation at the Pacific Standard bank before spiraling into a high speed multi vehicle chase across Los Santos. Another might focus on a stealthy extraction from a heavily guarded facility or a heist that requires perfect teamwork.
Community Support and Rewards

Rockstar encourages the community to experiment freely. Players can share early prototypes in the official Discord server for feedback and tag their finished work with the hashtag communityseries on the Jobs page to increase the chances of being featured. Successful creators who make it into the Community Mission Series receive a one time GTA$10,000,000 cash prize, the exclusive Rockstar Community Series Varsity Jacket, and a special Mansion Trophy.
More player made missions will join the rotation later this year. Rockstar also teased upcoming events such as a motorsport mayhem series and a dedicated Community Race Series launching next month.
This update represents one of the biggest shifts in GTA Online since its launch. Instead of waiting for Rockstar to drop new story content, players can now generate endless fresh experiences for themselves and the entire community. Whether you want to recreate classic heists, invent wild new races, or script original storylines, the Mission Creator puts the power in your hands.
