It opens a new region of the Galactic War, puts Super Earth infantry on the ground with you, doubles the level cap, and ships the Warhammer 40,000 crossover. Hotfixes 7.0.1 and 7.0.2 later cleaned up crashes. The new content itself is all in 7.0.0.

The Void

Super Earth used Census Thunder research to stabilize a wormhole on Rirga Bay and send Helldivers into the Illuminate Void. Planets inside have no stars. Worlds pulled into the anomaly are warped and overgrown with parasitic flora. The goal is the Source Planet, formerly Seasse. Liberating it is framed as the way to collapse the anomaly.

Void operations are less linear than standard Illuminate dives. Each run can roll several randomized primary objectives. Secondary extraction zones also give a failing squad another way off-world.

New mission types include Blitz: Destroy Warp Gateways, Blitz: Suppress Toxic Pollination, Democratize the Void, Destroy Gazer Spire, and Infiltrate Illuminate Lair. The lair mix of combat and documentation work, including a tactical video camera. Toxic Pollination is nastier: Void blossoms can distort your screen and invert controls.

New Illuminate enemies

The Crusher is a heavy that regenerates while it is still taking damage. You have to keep pressure on it or it walks the health back. The Wretch is fast, dodges, leaps, and can dismantle a Helldiver's weapon if it closes the gap. One is a tank that punishes split focus. The other is a close-range saboteur.

SEAF allies

Super Earth Armed Forces can now appear as a planet modifier and drop into missions as friendly NPC troops. They have updated models, better behavior, and a real kit: stim pistols, heavy machine guns, and the ability to destroy enemy spawners. They still die easily. They now do useful work first. You can also emote with them.

Level 300 and more emotes

The old Level 150 ceiling is gone. Helldivers now climb to Level 300, with 15 new ranks, titles, and icons. Players who had already maxed the old cap got excess XP applied retroactively. New ranks are recognition, not extra stratagem slots. The emote wheel also doubled from 4 equipped emotes to 8.

Castellan's Creed Warbond

Helldivers 2iver

The same day the Void opened, Arrowhead shipped the Castellan's Creed Legendary Warbond. It is Cadian Kasrkin-themed Imperial Guard gear, not Space Marine fantasy.

  • R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle, a medium-pen primary for aimed shots
  • P/40-K Bolt Pistol, a high-stopping-power sidearm
  • 40-K Meltagun, a short-range superheated support stratagem
  • G/40-K Meltamine, a proximity mine that vents heat before it detonates
  • TG-8 Sharpshooter medium armor and TG-122 Demo-Trooper heavy armor, both with True Grit: +20 weapon handling and +30% support-weapon reload speed
  • Capes, player cards, the Still Standing title, and the Castellan's Green vehicle pattern

The Meltagun is the loadout-changer. The Hot-Shot fills the marksman role many existing rifles only half-commit to.

Requested quality-of-life

Assisted reload no longer needs a designated backpack buddy. Either the gunner or the helper can carry the matching pack, so support weapons see more team play. The GATER extraction rig got a Super V48 Interceptor engine, with better speed, handling, ammo, and health. Empty GATERs also stop drawing aggro unless someone is inside or it is drilling. The R-2124 Constitution now uses stripper clips on empty reloads.

Other useful changes: backpack and expendable icons on support weapons in the loadout screen, a 40% shorter heavy-landing recovery, buffered stim inputs, and more spare and starting mags on short-magazine attachments.
