During the I/O conference for developers of this year, Google has revealed its plan to  "make a more helpful Google for everyone,". They are planning to provide many new features - such as video Live Captions, AR search, Android's dark mode, new Lens camera... But nothing new about Stadia?

On the other hand, the team at Mashable has had the chance to try out the Stadia controller.

We don't need to tell you the important level of a controller when you play a game anymore. A controller could really help you make it or lost it in a gaming session. The controller is the main way that you interact with the game, so a good controller must be good in some factor such as button tactility and ergonomics. In the case of Stadia, because it is a game streaming service there for the controller is the only hardware that we could review.

Got to try the controller

Recently, a reporter at Mashable has tried the Stadia controller in a demo of Assassin's Creed Odyssey on the Pixelbook with video output to HDTV. And he reported that Stadia's controller is good gamepad.

The controller has sculpted grips so that it is textured against any slippage.

The Stadia controller is kinda similar to the gamepad of Xbox One in term of shape and size, it is just a little bit more rounded. It also has a nice amount of weight that makes it feels solid in the hands, they also have sculpted the grips so that it is textured against any slippage.

The one he has tried is a white controller with orange accents and back buttons. But the controller also comes in the all-black and teal-colored models.

The buttons

Just like on any standard controller these days you will find a normal buttons assortment: shoulder buttons on each side, two triggers, dual analog sticks, a D-pad, and four buttons (X, Y, A, B). Then it also features some extra button such as Google Assistant button, two menu buttons, and a "capture" button.

There is a USB-C port on top of the Stadia controller.

On top of the controller, you will also find a  USB-C port. You can connect the controller to any device using wire or just to juice it up. There is also a standard headphone jack at the bottom of the controller. It will come in very handy if you are planning to do any trash talking.

So, the gamepad of Stadia isn't something groundbreaking, it just a good controller. But we still have to wait for its price to really judge it fairly.
