Similar to other battle royale games, Apex Legends is having an event to give away free cosmetic items for you to equip and suit up for your upcoming matches.

However, the sad news is that this game is still published by EA (although the developer is Respawn Entertainment). So, these items are technically “free” to Apex players, but you still need to be subscribed to a paid subscription service to get them. (yes we know, so “EA”)

Apex Legends is available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and luckily the free items being given away available on all platforms.

For examples, PS Plus users on PlayStation 4 can get a few free cosmetics from the PS Store for themselves right now. These include two weapon skins for the Flatline and RE45 (these 2 are character skins for Gibraltar and Bloodhound), and one banner for each of those characters as well. It is something if you play Gibraltar and Bloodhound a lot and you own Flatline and RE45 skins. If you don’t have Flatline and RE45 skins, you will need them first to use the weapon skins on this giveaway event.

It is more costly for Xbox One users to enter this give away event. Because you need to be a part of the Xbox Live Gold subscription service and be an EA Access subscriber to get your hands on the “free” weapon skins, a badge, and 1,000 Apex Coins. Well, it is more expensive for Xbox One users, so they get more.

The same can be said for PC users, who need to have EA Access to get a different weapon skin, the same badge as Xbox One users, and 1,000 Apex Coins.

One more thing: you only have a limited amount of time to get these items. So be sure to claim them by logging in, downloading the pack on some devices, and then signing into Apex Legends. Although this is a real “EA move” to dig some more money, the game is still free to play and all the items are cosmetic items, so you can still win the matches in Apex Legends with your talent, not with your items.
