Foxes are one of the cutest mobs in Minecraft. If players want to get a pet that can actually support them in combat, Foxes are the second-best option if they don't want a wolf.

1. How to find foxes in Minecraft

Foxes spawn in groups of two to four in taiga, old growth taiga, snowy taiga and grove biomes.

Out of the above biomes, taiga is the most common. Players can usually find them next to mountain, plain and forest biomes. They can also locate the biome using the /locate command or input their seed into the biome finder website.

Alternatively, players can also use the console command to create a fox spawn egg to spawn the mob itself. Foxes that spawned in a snowy biome are white.

5% of them spawn as baby foxes. Foxes that spawned in a snowy biome are white. They have a 20% chance to spawn holding an item in their mouth.

2. How to breed foxes in Minecraft

When sweet berries or glow berries are used on two foxes, the foxes breed, producing a baby fox.

If a red fox is bred with a snow fox, the baby has a 50% chance of being either red or snow. Otherwise, the result would be the same as the parent foxes. This means players need to find at least one red/snow fox to get more of the same type.

3. How to tame foxes in Minecraft

Breeding two adults with sweet berries or glow berries produce a kit that trusts the player. The baby fox trusts the player that bred it and does not flee from that player as it grows up.

Now that the baby fox is there you can either feed it berries to accelerate its growth or wait for it to become an adult. However, because baby foxes also follow nearby adult foxes, an adult running away from the player may cause the baby to do the same. Therefore, players can use a lead to prevent a baby fox from running away.

How to get Glow Berries

For Glow Berries, players can either loot them inside Dungeon chests or harvest them from cave vines in the lush cave biome.

To locate a lush cave, a player must first locate an azalea tree on the surface of the overworld. Azalea looks almost identical to an oak tree, except for the presence of purple flowers growing on it. Once you find one, dig down and trace its roots until you reach the lush cave biome below.

Afterward, move around the cave system to harvest the berries. Just destroy the cave vine they are clinging to for them to drop down.
