The How to Train Your Dragon Add-On for Minecraft Bedrock Edition, made by Spark Universe, drops you right into the world of Berk from the DreamWorks series. You can grab it on the Minecraft Marketplace for 1340 Minecoins. This add-on lets you roam cool locations, tame and fly dragons, and even race them with friends. You’ll meet dragons like the Night Fury, Deadly Nadder, Gronckle, Monstrous Nightmare, and Hideous Zippleback, each with its own personality. You can also do quests with the Hooligans, craft armor, and customize your gear. Plus, there’s a free Hiccup’s Viking Helmet you can snag until July 10, 2025. It’s a fun way to dive into the dragon-taming life with multiplayer action.
Taming Dragons
- Locate Dragons: Dragons pop up in different biomes. You’ll spot ones like the Night Fury, Deadly Nadder, Gronckle, Monstrous Nightmare, and Hideous Zippleback, each acting a bit different.
- Learn Their Preferences: Check the Book of Dragons (in stables or around the world) to figure out what food each dragon likes, like raw salmon for the Night Fury. Walk up to a baby dragon or a chill adult (their eyes change when you hold food) and give them the goods until hearts show up.
- Build Trust: Keep feeding the dragon to win it over. Some are easy, others take more food and time. On iPad, tap with two fingers to interact since there’s no right-click.
- Check Taming Progress: Use a stick to see how close you are to taming the dragon.
Riding Dragons
- Saddle Up: Once tamed, slap a saddle (found or crafted) on your dragon to ride it. Just interact while holding the saddle.
- Control the Dragon:
- On PC: Right-click to feed or hop on.
- On Mobile (iPad): Two-finger tap does the trick. If feeding’s not working, drop the food (hit Q on PC or similar) for the dragon to grab.
- Use a stick to set the dragon to sit, follow, or wander. If it’s on follow, it’ll catch you if you jump off midair.
- Flying and Abilities:
- The more the dragon trusts you, the better you can fly. Use these keys:
- R: Main attack (like Night Fury’s plasma blast or Gronckle’s lava spit).
- X: Extra attack (like Deadly Nadder’s spines).
- Dragons can smash blocks and fight off enemies while you ride. On mobile, hold the screen to shoot projectiles.
Additional Tips
- Craft Armor: Use the Forge to make armor for you and your dragon, and add some paint to make it look sharp.
- Dragon Racing: Jump into multiplayer racing in Berk, grabbing sheep for points. The black sheep gives you extra.
- Hiccup’s Viking Helmet: Get this free item in the Dressing Room until July 10, 2025.
- Toothless: Only Hiccup can tame Toothless, but you can ride him after doing Hooligan quests. He’ll go back to Hiccup if you don’t set him to sit.
- Breeding: Feed two dragons of the same type Dragon Nip to get a baby dragon you can tame later. Night Fury and Light Fury can’t make Night Lights.
- Glitches: Some folks say dragons like the Light Fury vanish sometimes, so save often.
- Controls: iPad players, stick to two-finger taps for interacting.
