Minecraft Preview 26.70.20 arrived on October 13, 2026, for Bedrock Edition players on Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, and iOS. The beta is also available on Android. This preview adds more features from the upcoming Drop 4 of 2026, which continues the winter theme with ice caves and freezing mechanics.

Brittle Ice and Ice Cave Crevasses
The biggest addition is Brittle Ice, a fragile new block that cracks when players or most mobs stand on it. After three cracks it breaks completely. It does not melt, generates naturally in the world, and can also form when water flows next to Blue Ice. When it cracks or breaks it releases ice particles and emits vibrations that can trigger nearby sculk sensors.
Ice Cave biomes now include crevasses. These narrow ravines generate throughout the biome with Brittle Ice covering the surface and water pools at the bottom. Stepping on the ice risks a fall if you stay too long. Frostbites are an exception. These cold-adapted mobs can stand on Brittle Ice without cracking it, and they can also pick up spears.
Jukebox Playlists
Jukeboxes gain a simple automation feature. Place a Chest, Trapped Chest, or any Copper Chest directly above a Jukebox and fill it with Music Discs. The jukebox plays the discs in slot order, skips empty slots and non-disc items, and loops back to the start. When one disc finishes it swaps in the next one. Ejecting the current disc also advances the playlist. This makes longer music sessions easier without constant manual swapping.
Nether Spawning Experiment
An experimental toggle for Nether Spawning Rebalancing is available. When enabled it reduces overall mob density in the Nether and adjusts fortress spawning rules to more closely match Java Edition. This is still under testing and only affects worlds where the experiment is turned on.
The preview also includes rendering fixes for icicles and ice crystals, sound events for Frostbite conversions, and a long list of bug fixes across mobs, blocks, UI, Realms, and performance. As with all previews and betas, these builds can be unstable and features may change before the final release.
