The Mob vote used to be the best part of the annual Minecraft Live, where the entire community come together to pick one out of three mobs to add to the game. It was scrapped last year, and with the addition of the Copper Golem, looks like Mojang might be adding all the Mob vote losers back into the game.
However, as they lost the vote, their designs could definitely use some improvements. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase everything Mojang should do to improve these mobs.
The Barnacle and the Great Hunger
The first mob vote has 2 amazing aquatic mobs that lost to time: the Barnacle, a squid-like monster that drags players down into the sea, and the Great Hunger, with the ability to remove enchantments. While these mobs are less likely to be brought back, the idea of a hostile squid that attacks players from the water can be fairly interesting.
The Great Hunger might need to be changed altogether as removing enchantments is too punishing.
Penguin
It is crazy that this mob has not been added to the game yet - it should be a staple for all ice biomes. Its ability to increase the speed of boats is rather underwhelming - as penguins in real life catch fish, it might be a good idea to make the Minecraft variant the same.
Tuff Golem
The Tuff Golem is just a movable decoration statue. It actually deserved to lose the mob vote because as it is pretty much the most boring design. In order for this mob to be more interesting, Mojang need to make them customizable or add some utilities such as automatic mining.
Iceologer
One of the few hostile mobs featured in the mob vote, the Iceologer would have become a great challenge for players to defeat. It is rather easy to improve this mob - a few Ice themed attacks and the ability to freeze would make it one of the best illagers ever.
Glare
The glare offered a way for players to instantly know whether a dark area was dark enough for hostile mobs to spawn in. However, it is not nearly as useful as just crafting a bunch of torches. Mojang needs to give this mob some kind of detection interaction with redstone so that players can put it in builds.
Rascal
Losing to the Sniffer in a landslide, it looks like providing a pickaxe is not that big of a deal. To improve this mob, Mojang should definitely expand the concept and turn the mob into some kind of Ore Exchange station where you swap one block for another.
Moobloom
The moobloom was knocked out early in the 2020 Mob Vote, but losing to the glow squid isn’t much of a defeat. This golden cow could create a new dynamic with the bee and honey farm. The Moobloom is already almost perfect, the only way you can improve it is to add more variants and colors.
Crab
Lost to the Armadillo in a very close vote, the crab is overall already super good as it is. Mojang might announce adding it back to the game any day now.
