Over the last weekend, a leak about an alien-themed DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2 has surfaced, which gains many attentions from the gaming community and fans of the game. However, today, the source of the leak has confessed on Reddit that all those "leaks" was just a big lie, and this is just an experiment to learn "how easily rumors can spread online".

As the leak above sounds "too good to be true", many didn't believe it at first. However, as the leak was picked up by some famous YouTuber and journalist, this rumor has spread all over the internet.
According to this user, the "leak" was an experiment to observe how fast “rumors in video game culture” can spread. As it's just a prank that went too far, the user feel guilty as more and more big websites started reporting on the rumor.
