A recent rumor has surfaced recently, suggesting that Capcom is going to release the remake version of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis in 2020. This rumor came from YouTube channel SpawnWave, along with video game outlet VGC.

While this is currently a rumor, SpawnWave was known for his credibility as he was the first to report about Elden Ring before the official announcement from FromSoftware.

According to the rumor, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis remake is in development at Capcom for a while, and will be using the same RE Engine as Resident Evil 2 Remake. And if the rumor is true, that the game is currently planned to be released in 2020, then an announcement should happen soon in the upcoming months.

With the success of Resident Evil 2 Remake, there is little doubt that Capcom wants to push out another remake for Resident Evil 3. After all, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was one of the most beloved games from the franchise, too.

So if the remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is coming soon, then it's possible that we will hear an announcement during this December's The Game Awards 2019 event.

RE2 Remake is having a great year

Resident Evil 2 Remake is having a great year, with 4.2 million units sold total. The game is well-received by gamers and critics alike and has gained a spot at this year's The Game Awards event for the 'Game of the Year' category.

Meanwhile, another confirmed Resident Evil project named Project Resistance is also coming in 2020 - and according to Capcom, this game is their take at the Left 4 Dead formula, a 4-player co-op survival game.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was first released in 1999, and follow the journey of Jill Valentine trying to escape from Raccoon City - after a bio-terrorist attack that released the T-Virus and turn all the infected into zombies. One of the most memorable things about this game is the titular enemy named Nemesis - who can not be killed until the final fight of the game, and continously chasing you throughout the course of the game.
