After one long year of being on hold, we have received the recent announcement from Freesphere Entertainment that Tether development will continue.
Together with that announcement of back into development, the team has also released a prototype version of the last incarnation of the game on itch.io for free. In fact, they decided to release this demo because they want to at least get some recognition from all those hard work years on the game.
Freesphere is back
From the post of the team, they also mentioned that Freesphere is back in the design board to get the whole project starting again. They have set the new scope is to simplify the storyline as well as exploring "new option" for the game.
In fact, this demo is kinda a long coming. Because just last year, OnlySP had an interview with the creative director of the game - Mark Gregory. And she said that the demo would become available. Aside from that, in that interview, he has also discussed various issues and struggles that the team has been facing such as lack of interest from publishers, personal burnout, and underfunding.
If you are new the whole Tether thing, then I will brief it a little bit to you. It is a sci-fi adventure about a mother who is on the mission of preventing the collapse of the environment got trapped in a space station. The premise of the game makes it looks somewhat like a ‘walking simulator’ game, but then we are not sure. The game also features reactive AI enemy, immersive sim elements, and time manipulation. But we still need to wait and see those contents will still be included in the new version of the game or not.
Amy Davison from OnlySP has also pledged to try the demo for the entry for Friday Freebies Club, this week they will try \SPEK.TAKL\.
