SEGA Games, a large video game developer, and publisher, declared that two Sega Ages titles, Sega Ages: Gain Ground and Sega Ages: Puyo Puyo will be distributed via eShop in Europe, America, and Canada next month. The two games will be compatible with Nintendo Switch.

Now let’s go through some general review of the two games:

Gain Ground will have a new mode called All-Member that you can have access to all 20 characters. For those who like to practice your skills first or just want to have an easy match, the Easy Mode will fit the bill.

Puyo Puyo features a Ranking System with which you can compete with other players on the leaderboards. With the Online Play mode, you get to hone your skills by playing with people outside of your own home. Bear in mind that you need Nintendo Switch Online if you want to use the Online Play Mode.

This year, SEGA Ages will have some more titles launched. These games are Virtual Racing, Alex Kidd, Columns II, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Thunder Force AC, Puyo Puyo 2, and Space Harrier.

For those who have been waiting impatiently for some game titles that do not cost you an arm and a leg, these two titles from Sega Ages hit the spot. Puyo Puyo and Puyo Puyo 2 (Puyo Puyo Tsū) were announced at the game’s Championship in December 2018.

How Gain Ground looks like

The two games are both developed from their arcade versions with online play mode, which is no different from other titles in the series. However, the games sport some present-day-related features which are expected to improve players’ experience.

Compile, a developer from Japan is supposed to be in charge of the release. Masamitsu Niitani, the company’s founder was inspired by Dr. Mario and Tetris in 1991 to make the first game. 3 years later, a sequel was launched.
