Rockstar Games just dropped a fresh GTA Online trailer that looks like it's poking fun at GTA 6 fans. The way they rolled it out was odd, leaving a bunch of people scratching their heads.
A fan caught it first on Twitter, and Rockstar shared this new spot called “Experience Grand Theft Auto Online”. So far, it's only up on two of their regional YouTube pages: the one for UK & Ireland and another for Australia & New Zealand. Nowhere else.
That rollout weirdness had folks puzzled. On top of that, it got uploaded twice to the UK & Ireland channel. Total slip-up, but Rockstar doesn't mess up like that often—they're usually on point.
The Trailer Contents
This thing runs for a full minute and pulls together snippets from all sorts of GTA Online updates. We're talking The Chop Shop, Drug Wars, Arena War, and plenty more. It shouts out the GTA$4,000,000 bonus that comes with the Career Builder on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and GTA V PC (Enhanced).
No doubt about it—this is straight-up promo to hook new folks into GTA Online, especially on the newer consoles. They've even pushed it as an ad on Twitter.
UPDATE: Rockstar's pulled the plug on easy access now, making the trailers unlisted so they won't pop up in YouTube searches. You can still watch if you have the direct link, like this one.
GTA 6 Talk
The real kicker here is the GTA 6 nod, and it's played for laughs. Right at the beginning, Dr. Friedlander—from the GTA V story and the GTA Online Los Santos Drug Wars update—drops the line “I’m afraid our time isn’t up yet.” It's Rockstar messing around with us while we keep waiting on GTA 6. They've pulled similar stunts before, like how the GTA VI Trailer 2 nodded to those leaks.
Everyone knows mansions are on the way for GTA Online in an upcoming patch. Like Rockstar's hinting, your days in GTA Online aren't over by a long shot.
