Amongst all the characters released in Genshin Impact so far, Kokomi is definitely amongst the most underrated. Her previous banner perform terribly, which might be the reason why miHoYo decided to rerun it pretty soon afterward.
However, with most people pulling for the other character in the banner, Raiden Shogun, it is likely that Kokomi is going to be neglected once again. In this article, Gurugamer is going to change your mind by listing out the 5 reasons to pull for Kokomi in Genshin Impact 2.5 rerun banner, scheduled to come out on March 8.
1. Kokomi's design is superb
Kokomi has a pretty big role in the story. She is the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island, and also serves as its supreme leader. Her role in the Inazuma story arc is pretty substantial, with the upcoming 2.6 character, Ayato, being her older brother.
Appearance-wise, Kokomi is a young woman wearing a flowing blue kimono-like dress. Attached to her chest is a large indigo bow with her Hydro Vision mounted at the center. If players like her lore and how she looks, pulling in this banner is a must.
2. You need a strong healer
Being Hydro, Kokomi is probably the strongest healer one can have in Genshin. All parts of her kit revolve around healing and dealing damage: her elemental skill provides healing in intervals while her burst gives Kokomi a "life steal" effect on attacks.
Both types of heal that Kokomi has are strong, as they heal in smaller intervals. This results in less overheal and therefore more efficiency. You can just stand around and tank with Kokomi.
3. Kokomi is easy to build items
With her heal scales based on her Max HP and her burst giving negative crit chance, building gears around Kokomi is actually pretty easy. You can just keep the crit gears to your other characters and give Kokomi the HP-based artifacts.
Her best weapon and artifacts are the Heart of Depth 4 pieces set and the Everlasting Moonglow catalyst, which allows Kokomi to dish out powerful normal attacks in her burst. The Catalyst's ability to regenerate Energy lets Kokomi fire her Burst more frequently.
4. Consistent Hydro Application
Since she's a Catalyst-user, you can use Kokomi's normal attacks to easily apply Hydro to enemies and set up Elemental Reactions such as Freeze, Vaporize, or Electro-Charge. Her elemental skill also applies Hydro periodically as well, which synergizes pretty well with reaction-based Kokomi team comp.
5. Unorthodox DPS potential
Kokomi's Elemental Burst deals Hydro DMG and equips her with a Ceremonial Garment. This Ceremonial Garment buffs all her Normal and Charged attacks, as well as her Elemental Skill damage. With the right investment, Kokomi can deal decent damage even without any crits, and tank at the same time.
In addition, her Normal and Charged attacks also heal allies on-hit and increase her resistance to interruption.
