Genshin Impact is a huge game, with tons of characters released pretty frequently. While some characters are pretty limited in their roles, there are a few characters that can fit in pretty much every team. In this article, we are going to showcase the top 5 most versatile characters that players should own in 2022.
1. Kazuha
Kazuha has replaced Venti in pretty much all top-tier comps. He is a strong and flexible sub DPS.
Similar to all Anemo support, Kazuha can group enemies with his elemental skill and his damage is not bad either. He can also give your party an elemental damage bonus which is very good if you're running a team with only one element, such as a full pyro team.
The Elemental DMG bonus is probably the main reason that Kazuha can be run on pretty much every team except for physical.
2. Bennett
Bennett is easily the best support character in the game. The guy is so good that people thought miHoYo might have made him a 4 star by mistake. With his elemental burst, Bennett can literally keep the whole team alive... while giving a huge ATK boost to the DPS characters.
He is also a good Pyro applicator with a fairly low cooldown elemental skill. If you are looking for a solid support/sub DPS unit, Bennett is probably the top choice in pretty much all team comps.
3. Xingqiu
The best part about Xingqiu is the number of positive effects he can provide to the team. Both his Skill and Burst generate Rain Swords, which reduce damage taken, deal Hydro damage, and, thanks to a later passive talent, can even heal the active character slightly.
Furthermore, the duration of Xingqiu's abilities is pretty long, which allows much more consistent damage. In comparison with other Hydro supports such as Mona or Barbara, he is clearly superior.
4. Xiangling
Xiangling is a F2P character that most people acquire from either Gacha or clearing floor 3 of Spiral Abyss. Players often underestimate her damage potential due to the fact that she is only a 4 star. However, at high investment and constellations, she can dish out much higher damage than C0 Hu Tao or Diluc. She is also much easier to build as well.
Furthermore, she can also serve as a decent sub DPS dealing off-field damage - this is useful in pretty much every team comp.
5. Zhongli
Zhongli is the best shielder in Genshin Impact and one of the best Geo characters in the game. His shield is so strong he can keep the whole team alive by himself. This allows players to run pretty much any character without having to worry about healing or protection.
Not only does he have great defensive capabilities, but Zhongli also offers decent damage dealing and reliable CC on his burst. After an underwhelming release, the devs went out of their way to buff Zhongli and the Geo element overall, giving him powerful upgrades.
