For the past couple of weeks, renowned studio Capcom was teaming up with various streamers and YouTuber to show off an upcoming card game. At the time, not a lot of information about this new release was available, other than the fact that it was referred to as “Project Battle”. Today, the project has finally been published under the name “TEPPEN”. It is the result of a collaboration between Capcom and GungHo Online Entertainment and is currently available on both Android and iOS in certain regions. The game will probably expand to the rest of the world in the near future, but for now, let’s check out its trailer below:
So the first thing you will probably notice about TEPPEN is that it features plenty of famous characters from other Capcom games. The legendary demon hunter Dante from Devil May Cry, Chun-Li and Ryu from Street Fighter, Nergigante from Monster Hunter, and a lot more are all present. Each character also has unique abilities and attributes. Chun-Li can provide extra shield, while Ryu is capable of dealing massive damage with his iconic move Hadouken.
The visuals, meanwhile, are absolutely stunning for a card game. During battles, you’ll see an animated model of your character pop up on the background, and they will react to what’s happening on the board as well, flinching when they get attacked. The attacks are flashy and sometimes cause some pretty over-the-top effects that will blow up your screen.
At the moment, TEPPEN includes several gameplay modes, including a solo story mode, ranked matches, grand prix versus, and more.
If you want to check out TEPPEN for yourself, you can head over to Google Play or the App Store to get it for your respective Android or iOS device, assuming that it is already available in your region. Being a free release, the game will feature in-app purchases as you’d expect.
