The detective game Jenny LeClue from Mografi has been confirmed to be heading to Apple Arcade. There is no exact date confirmed, though, so there is a chance that the game won’t be available on the service immediately at launch. Still, we can expect it to arrive within this year. In the meantime, check out its trailer below:
For those who don’t know, Jenny LeClue started out as a Kickstarter project that kicked off half a decade ago. Since then, it has been expanding to pretty much every platform including Nintendo Switch and now iOS. The developer has clearly put a lot of love into this one, so it's nice to see that it is getting some recognition from Apple.
In term of gameplay, Jenny LeClue is a detective-themed adventure game in which the player’s choices play a crucial part in the narrative. Every decision you make will have a long-term effect and can impact the entire story.
The hand-drawn visual style, meanwhile, has a lovely mid-20th-century aesthetics to it, and the in-game world is filled with plenty of objects that you can interact with. All in all, it’s a nice callback to the golden era of point-and-click adventure titles.
Of course, being a game about detectives, Jenny LeClue will also include a bit of an L.A Noire feel. A large part of the game involves interrogating NPCs in order to solve the case, and during these moments, our protagonist Jenny can also scan the surroundings to look for clues that the subject is being honest or not.
As mentioned, Jenny LeClue is “coming soon” to Apple Arcade, though no specific date is confirmed at the moment. To know which games will be available on the service at its launch, check out our previous article here.
