Clash squad, ever since its ranked update, has become one of the most popular arcade modes in Free Fire. In this mode, you have to play as a team and buy guns from the shop instead of just picking them up from loot spots - similar to traditional shooters such as Counter-Strike. This mode is pretty unique amongst battle royale games - only Free Fire has it, while PUBG Mobile or other games usually just skip. In this article, we would compare the two most popular choices for the early game of Clash Squad: AN94 vs FAMAS.

1 - Why AN94 and FAMAS?

They are the cheapest assault rifles in the mode, with the price tag of only 1200. Getting your hand on these rifles fast is a must, as other weapons like the pistols, Mp5, and Thompsons do not really have enough range. While the Clash Squad map is relatively small, having a longer range weapon is still better most of the time.

2 - Statistics of the AN94

The AN94
  • Damage: 60
  • Rate of Fire: 58
  • Range: 55
  • Reload Speed: 45
  • Magazine: 30
  • Accuracy: 48

The AN-94 is a rifle of Russian origin, with its initials stand for "Avtomat Nikonova model of 1994". In Free Fire, the gun has the third-highest damage per shot - a whopping 60, only 2 lower than the AK and 1 lower than the Groza. To make up for that strength, its range and fire rate are slightly lower than the usual rifles - however, bullet damage is better than fire rate most of the time. Its accuracy is a problem, however - the gun has pretty substantial recoil.

3 - Statistics of the FAMAS

The FAMAS
  • Damage: 53
  • Rate of Fire: 67
  • Range: 70
  • Reload Speed: 48
  • Magazine: 30
  • Accuracy: 45

The FAMAS is a French Rifle, with its initials meaning "Assault Rifle from the Saint-Étienne Weapon Factory”. As we can see from its stats, the FAMAS is geared toward a completely different type of player - it has much lower damage per shot in exchange for the much longer range - and with its 3 bullets burst, you would maintain a high accuracy every time.

4 - AN94 Vs FAMAS

Overall, this would depend on the type of player you are. If you rarely try to aim for headshots and just want to go around unloading hails of bullets onto your enemies, the AN-94 is the better choice. It's higher damage would let you win in medium-range combat easier.

On the other hand, if you have a decent ability to score headshots, picking up the FAMAS should be a good decision. The 3 bullets burst is pretty much designed to improve accuracy and prevent you from accidentally go full auto.
