Free Fire: Should You Buy The New Detective Character 'Clu'? Is She Worth Your Diamonds?

Garena is going to add a new female detective character called Clu into the game in the next update. She is now present in the Character list in Free Fire right now but you cannot buy her yet.

Clu's Skill Details

This character is coming to the game with a skill called 'Tracing Steps'. With this skill, she will scan the area around her for up to 7 seconds and see the position of all enemies in the area that are not prone or crouch. Here are the details about her skill from Level 1 to Level 6.

•  Tracing Steps Level 1: Detect the positions of enemies within 30m that are not prone or crouching. Lasts for 5s and. Teammates cannot see it. Cooldown: 50 secs
•  Tracing Steps Level 2: Detect the positions of enemies within 35m that are not prone or crouching. Lasts for 5.5s and. Teammates cannot see it. Cooldown: 50 secs
•  Tracing Steps Level 3: Detect the positions of enemies within 40m that are not prone or crouching. Lasts for 6.0s and. Teammates cannot see it. Cooldown: 50 secs
•  Tracing Steps Level 4: Detect the positions of enemies within 40m that are not prone or crouching. Lasts for 6.0s and. Teammates CAN see it. Cooldown: 50 secs
•  Tracing Steps Level 5: Detect the positions of enemies within 45m that are not prone or crouching. Lasts for 6.5s and. Teammates CAN see it. Cooldown: 50 secs
•  Tracing Steps Level 6: Detect the positions of enemies within 50m that are not prone or crouching. Lasts for 7.0s and. Teammates CAN see it. Cooldown: 50 secs

The duration and range of your skill will get higher along with its level. But notice that below level 4, your teammate won't be able to see what you see on the radar so this is a very important level.

Is Clu Worth Buying?

At first glance, the Tracing Steps skill sounds really amazing. You pretty much gained the ability to hack map, which is obviously OP, not to mention that your teammate can see it as well. But if you take a closer look, the maximum radius of the skill is 50m, not too far away, so it is actually only useful in a town or city with many buildings. It is also very helpful in Team Deathmatch since the map there is small.

So should you buy this character? The answer depends on your playstyle.

If you like rushing toward enemies and killing people in hot drops then she is absolutely fantastic, especially in Squad mode. Information is the key to victory in a game like this and this skill gives you all the information you need.

But if you are a passive player then you might want to hold onto your Diamonds. At the max level, the skill will give you 7.0 seconds to act so if you can't act fast, it will be just a waste. If you still want her, you can still wait for sales or events to buy her.
