Thiva has finally made his way to Free Fire on 28 August as a free login reward to celebrate the game's 4th-anniversary. The new character, based on Michael Thivaios of DVLM, isn't the first reincarnation of real-life figures in Free Fire. In the OB27 update, the game introduced Maro. He came as a part of Garena's collaboration with the famous Egyptian singer and actor Mohamed Ramadan.
Both Thiva and Maro have passive ability characters and provide excellent tactical advantages. Let's compare their effectiveness in the classic Free Fire's 4v4 Clash Squad mode. Here's Thiva vs. Maro.
Thiva's Ability In Free Fire
Thiva owns a passive ability called "Vital Vibes". It reduces the rescue (help-up) time whenever players are down. After a successful rescue, the character also provides a little HP regeneration for 5 seconds. Vital Vibes make Thiva a great support character in Free Fire.
The effectiveness of Thiva's ability scales with the level of his ability. Check out the detailed scaling below:
Level 1
- Rescue speed increase: 5%
- HP recovery: 15 in five seconds
Level 2
- Rescue speed increase: 8%
- HP recovery: 20 in five seconds
Level 3
- Rescue speed increase: 11%
- HP recovery: 25 in five seconds
Level 4
- Rescue speed increase: 14%
- HP recovery: 30 in five seconds
Level 5

- HP recovery: 35 in five seconds
Level 6
- Rescue speed increase: 20%
- HP recovery: 40 in five seconds
Maro's Ability In Free Fire
Maro's passive ability is "Falcon Fervor". It increases the damage over distance dealt by Maro. In addition, Maro will also inflict bonus damage on marked enemies. Hence, Maro is good character to play aggressively, especially over longer ranges.
You can increase Maro's power by leveling up Falcon Fervor:
Level 1
- Damage increased over distance: 5%
- Damage increased on marked enemies: 1%
Level 2
- Damage increased over distance: 7%
- Damage increased on marked enemies: 1.5%
Level 3
- Damage increased over distance: 10%
- Damage increased on marked enemies: 2%
Level 4

- Damage increased on marked enemies: 2.5%
Level 5
- Damage increased over distance: 19%
- Damage increased on marked enemies: 3%
Level 6
- Damage increased over distance: 25%
- Damage increased on marked enemies: 3.5%
Verdict: Thiva Vs. Maro - Who Is Better For Clash Squad?
It's fair to say both Thiva and Maro are great for Clash Squad teams. However, these characters have two completely different playstyles. Maro fits the aggressive style while Thiva thrives in support. That's why it won't make sense to compare these two in Free Fire.
Thiva vs. Maro, who's better depends largely on your style of playing the game. If you like to push, fight, combat over long distances, go for Maro. And if you prefer defensive gameplay, pick Thiva.
