Prior leaks of Genshin Impact 2.2 have revealed a roguelike dungeon crawling event called Labyrinth Warriors. A popular Genshin Impact leaker, Genshin Intel, has just doubled down on that, revealing a lot of new details about the event. In this article, we are going to list out everything you need to know about the Labyrinth Warriors event and its reward, a free Xinyan.
1 - Upcoming Labyrinth Warriors event
Labyrinth Warriors is going to have 4 different stages, with 3 types of event currency. Two of them are used for event buffs, with the last one used to exchange items in the event shop.
About gameplay, the Labyrinth Warriors event will feature special buffs called Shikifuda. This is the "roguelike" aspect, with players able to select up to three Shikifuda before any event stage.
For the full list of all Shikifuda, check out the list of all Shikifuda from Genshin Intel below.
Furthermore, co-op mode won't be a part of this event. Players will have to solo the stage, however, they would still be able to switch out between 2 teams.
Overall, while this is a new event, the overall gameplay would be pretty familiar to most players. Domain-like challenges with special buffs like this are nothing new.
2 - Free Xinyan and other event rewards
Limited-time events tend to hand out free rewards in Genshin Impact, and this is not an exception. The limited Labyrinth Warriors event rewards this time include Primogems, Mora and the usual level up materials. The top prize of this event is going to be a free Xinyan, which can be exchanged for free using event currency (1000 Aged Tokens).
While many players are happy to get a free character, others have already complained. They express their disappointment about Xinyan herself, as she is a weak character who often falls short next to other main DPS characters. With relatively low damage potential and a weak shield, she has never been top tier in the Genshin Impact meta. miHoYo hasn't paid much attention to her since her debut in patch 1.2. Thoma, the new character in 2.2, is likely to outclass Xinyan herself.
Nevertheless, Genshin can be beaten with any character and some players would definitely want her, including those collectors who haven't yet brought her to C6. It is uncertain how much grind is needed to get all rewards in Labyrinth Warriors. However, based on past events with free character, picking up Xinyan should be pretty easy.
