Genshin Impact 3.7 Leak: New Geo Character Momoka Design & Release Date

Looks like from 3.5 onwards there will be new non-Sumeru characters coming out with every new patch. Based on recent leaks, it looks like a new Geo catgirl unit called Momoka is going to come out in 3.7.

In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase everything available so far about Genshin Impact Momoka.

1. Momoka in Genshin Impact 3.7

There is a possibility that she would be part of the standard banner, similar to Dehya. If this happens, Momoka would be the first 5-star Geo character available in the permanent banner. Additionally, she is from Inazuma and will use Inazuma materials for ascension.

This is an issue as new players who get her from the standard banner won't be able to acquire her mats until they reach AR30.

Design

Apparently, Momoka is similar to Yae Miko, who is a youkai and a kitsune (fox). She has the body of a normal human but with a tail and cat paws for feet. Some players have also argued that her tail is fake, but a reliable leaker, Kuroo, states it is real. Her Inazuman outfit also hints at her association with the Narukami Shrine. Fans can also see her Geo vision hanging around her waist.

Background

Momoka was a ninja of the Shuumatsuban.

She used to communicate with her colleague Momoyo through various means, one of which consisted of Momoyo posing as a shrine maiden at the Grand Narukami Shrine and handing out Strange Fortune Slips containing mission orders to the ninjas who recited their secret code while exchanging Bamboo Slip.

2. Genshin Impact Momoka Release Date

Based on the leak, Momoka is speculated to be released in the Genshin Impact 3.7 update. It is unclear if she would be in the first or second phase, but the new 5-star character of a patch tends to come out first. Below is the expected release date of Genshin Impact 3.7:

• First phase: May 24, 2023
• Second phase: June 14, 2023

This prediction is estimated based on the 6-week schedule for each version update.

3. Genshin Impact Momoka Abilities Overview

Another leaker, Mero, also revealed Momoka's potential kit.

If the leak is correct, Momoka will be the third Geo shielder in the game, with the same Tap/Hold mechanic as Zhongli. This makes quite a few fans angry, as her kit is not original and overlaps with existing characters.

The Geo Element has been fairly underwhelming after the Sumeru release, as it does not react with Dendro at all. Fans are expecting Momoka to change this particular trend.
