The Sumeru update is going to be the biggest ever patch in Genshin Impact, as it adds both a new element and a new region. However, players still have a lot of time until it's out so it might be a good idea to prepare for the patch drop.
In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the 5 best tips to prepare for the Sumeru update.
1. Save primogems
With a brand new element getting added, characters who can interact and use that element would be in high demand. Therefore, saving Primogems to pull in their banners is a must. Players need Tighnari, Collei, and the like right away in order to form teams around Dendro.
There are a lot of ways to gain more Primogems, from farming to getting codes from events or even buying more of them straight out. However, it is in your best interest to skip Yoimiya banner if you don't have Primogems to spare.
2. Save artifacts for the updated Artifact Strongbox
In the upcoming version 3.0, miHoYo will add more Artifact Strongboxes to the Mystic Offerings system. This means players would have a better time getting the right sub-stats on their artifact rolls, with an extra cycle of the artifact strongbox.
This is one of the biggest fan favorites of the update, as they have been asking for more artifact picks in the strongbox for a long time now.
Those sets are:
- Thundering Fury
- Thundersoother
- Viridescent Venerer
- Maiden Beloved
- Archaic Petra
- Retracing Bolide
- Crimson Witch of Flames
- Lavawalker
- Blizzard Strayer
- Heart of Depth
Currently, only 4 sets are available in Artifact Strongboxes: Bloodstained Chivalry, Gladiator's Finale, Noblesse Oblige, Wanderer's Troupe.
It is best that players save their artifacts until 3.0 to use the new Strongbox, unless they need one of the above sets.
3. Spend Resin now
Resin is a valuable resource in Genshin that players need to use to farm Mora, artifacts, and all types of materials. Players will need a lot of these things when Sumeru is out... and spending time to farm them when everyone is exploring Sumeru is not a good idea.
Therefore, it is best that players burn their resins now to farm whatever they are short of. This way, they would be able to get their Sumeru characters and weapons up as fast as possible.
4. Stockpile on Billets and Dream Solvents
New region means new crafting recipes - Sumeru is going to get a brand new set of themed weapons.
Genshin Impact leaks suggest that Travelers can acquire the new Midlander Billets by using one Northlander Billet alongside two Dream Solvents. This means stocking up on these two things might give you enough material to craft the new 4-star weapons right away.
5. Complete all of the current Archon Quests
A new region comes with new Archon Quests, and Sumeru is not going to be an exception to this rule. If players are behind in the story, they should try to catch up as soon as possible.
This way, they would be able to enjoy Sumeru quests as soon as the region arrives.
