Kokomi is a 5-Star Hydro Catalyst character in Genshin Impact. Her debut banner is one of the worst due to her weaker kit. Since then, miHoYo has buffed Kokomi quite a bit and she is actually really strong now.

In this article, Gurugamer.com is going to showcase the best Genshin Impact Kokomi build guide in 2022, including talents, gears, and team comps.

1. Kokomi Genshin Impact Overview

Kokomi is the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island, and also serves as its supreme leader. She is in charge of most of Watatsumi's affairs, shouldering heavy responsibilities.

Genshin Impact Kokomi Build

  • Elemental Skill has a big AoE and can apply Hydro easily.
  • Top-tier healing capabilities can heal the entire party with Normal Attacks during her Elemental Burst mode.
  • Decent DMG Output with her Normal Attacks during her Elemental Burst mode.

  • Despite building toward being a DPS, she can't do CRIT Hits.
  • Attacks lack some AoE DMG.
  • High Energy Cost for her Elemental Burst.

2. How to use Kokomi effectively?

Kokomi and her jellyfish.

Kokomi does not need CRIT Stats

As Kokomi has a passive that decreases her CRIT Rate by 100%, stubbornly stacking CRIT artifacts on her is pointless. Instead, fill her up with artifacts that have high HP bonuses to get the most out of her kit.

This is really useful, as players can put the few crit artifacts they have on other characters who need them.

Consistent Hydro Application

As Kokomi is a Catalyst-user, you can use Kokomi's normal attacks to easily apply Hydro to enemies and set up Elemental Reactions. Freeze, Vaporize, or Electro-Charge.

Additionally, the jellyfish does not disappear even if you switch characters, which makes it an amazing skill for triggering Hydro Elemental reactions.

Kokomi can serve multiple roles in the team

This is probably why Kokomi was slapped with a -100% crit passive. If she does not have that, her kit would deal damage, sustain and trigger reactions with teammates at the same time.

With the right investment, Kokomi can still put out some pretty decent numbers.

3. Best Genshin Impact Kokomi build

Best Weapon for Kokomi

Overall, the weapon choices for Kokomi are pretty straightforward. Players can choose between the following three Catalyst:

Everlasting Moonglow Healing Bonus increased by 10% Normal Attack DMG is increased by 1% of the Max HP of the character equipping this weapon. For 12s after using an Elemental Burst, Normal Attacks that hit opponents will restore 0.6 Energy. Energy can be restored this way once every 0.1s.
Thrilling Tales Of Dragon Slayers When switching characters, the new character taking the field has their ATK increased by 24% for 10s. This effect only occurs every 20s.
Prototype Amber Using an Elemental Burst regenerates 4 Energy every 2s for 6s. All party members will regenerate 4% HP every 2s for this duration.

The Everlasting Moonglow is designed for Kokomi's kit. If you want to build her as a DPS, getting it is a must. The Prototype Amber or Thrilling Tales can only let her become a sub DPS at best.

Best Artifact for Kokomi

Overall, Kokomi wants HP% / Energy Recharge / Elemental Mastery / ATK% / Flat HP.

Tenacity of the Millelith 2-PC: HP +20%
4-PC: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field.
Ocean-Hued Clam 2-PC: Healing Bonus +15%
4-PC: When the character with this artifact set heals a party member, 1 Foam will appear. It accumulates healed HP for 3 seconds, then explodes and deals 90% of the HP healed as DMG to nearby enemies. Max accumulated healing is 30,000 HP, including over-heal. There can only be 1 Foam active, but it stays even if you swap out. Foam CD is 3.5s.
Heart of Depth 2-PC: Hydro DMG Bonus +15%
4-PC: After using Elemental Skill, increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 30% for 15s.

4. Kokomi Constellations and Talent Priority

Kokomi Constellation
Genshin Impact Kokomi Build Constellations

As Kokomi is one of the few characters with a huge weakness built into her kit, she can definitely perform much better with some level of constellation. Her useful constellations are C1 and C4:

  • C1 is an excellent stopping point for Main and Sub-DPS Kokomi, giving her a bit more damage.
  • C4 makes Kokomi much more consistent - not only does it give her more energy but it also adds attack speed, enabling her to deal more damage during her burst.

Talent Priority

If you're building Kokomi as a Support, prioritize leveling up her Elemental Skill to not only deal more DMG, but also heal a lot more HP for the active character.

If you're building Kokomi as either a Main or Sub-DPS, prioritize upgrading both her Elemental Burst and Normal Attack talents since an active Kokomi relies on Normal Attacks powered by her Elemental Burst to deal DMG.

5. What are the best teams for Kokomi?

Eula Kokomi And Raiden Shogun Genshin Impact
Kokomi is a decent addition in reaction teams.

Overall, being a Hydro Catalyst user, Kokomi is great in Freeze, Vaporize and Electro-Charged teams.

Freeze teams

Kokomi is a great enabler in Freeze team comps - players can run either Ayaka or Ganyu alongside her. Afterward, they can double down on Cryo with a support like Shenhe or Diona. Kokomi is the enabler/sub-DPS/healer in this comp, depending on what you need.

Vaporize teams

Players can use Kokomi as a main DPS in a vaporize team, alongside Pyro applicators such as Xiangling or Bennett. Add an EM support like Kazuha or Sucrose to increase reaction damage.

Electro-Charged teams

Another good type of lineup for main DPS Kokomi. It is the same thing as vaporize teams, but replacing Pyro applicators with Electro applicators such as Yae and Fischl.
