Alhaitham is a Dendro Sword user, and a member of the Haravatat of the Sumeru Akademiya and the Akademiya's Scribe, responsible for documenting their findings and drafting ordinances. He is going to debut in the upcoming Genshin Impact 3.4 patch, the very first patch of 2023.

In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the complete Genshin Impact Alhaitham Build Guide, including talents, gears and team comps.

Alhaitham in Genshin Impact 3.4

1. Alhaitham Talent Overview & Gameplay

Talents

  • Skill: Rushes forward, dealing Dendro DMG to nearby opponents when the rush ends, causing 1 Chisel-Light Mirror to form (2 if there are none). Damage scale based on Elemental Mastery, CD 18s. Chisel-Light Mirrors convert Alhaitham's normal attacks to Dendro damage and are also turrets that shoot whenever Alhaitham hit a nearby target.
  • Burst: Create a field that deals AoE Dendro DMG. Consume nearby mirrors to increase the damage dealt. 2s after this ability is unleashed, if 0/1/2/3 Mirrors were consumed, Alhaitham will generate 3/2/1/0 new Mirrors in turn. CD 18s, Energy Cost 70.
  • Passive 1: When Alhaitham’s Charged or Plunging Attacks hit opponents, they will generate 1 Chisel-Light Mirror. This effect can be triggered once every 12s.
  • Passive 2: Each point of Alhaitham’s Elemental Mastery will increase the DMG dealt by Projection Attacks and Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena by 0.12%. The maximum DMG increase for both these abilities is 100%.

Burst damage with Skill + Burst combo

Alhaitham's Burst damage playstyle involves opening up first with his Skill to get Dendro infusion and 2 mirrors, then using his Charged attacks to get the third one. Hit a few times with his Dendro infusion attacks to trigger the Mirrors' big damage instance then fire off his Burst for another 10 instances of damage.

Alhaitham Skill

This allows players to switch him out and use other DPS characters. After his Burst consumed all the Mirrors, Alhaitham needs 10s to get infusion back again.

Normal attacks combo with Dendro infusion

Players can open up with Alhaitham's Burst, sacrificing the big damage potential for 3 free mirrors right away. Hit enemies to trigger the mirrors' damage instances and Dendro reactions. After the initial 3 mirrors expired, players can continue summoning them with their Skill and Burst. Save the charged attack to use whenever the mirrors expired to extend the duration of Dendro infusion.

Additionally:

  • It is also possible to open with a Charged attack, then Skill, then Burst so that the charged attack cooldown comes back again for another mirror.
  • If players have C2, open with his Skill to reduce cooldown and continue his infusion indefinitely.

Talent Priority

Overall, it depends on the build you are going to do. Max his Skill and Burst first for burst damage, or his NA talent first for Dendro infusions. Priority his Skill over his Burst because the mirror damage is based on his Skill.

2. Alhaitham Best Constellation

Overall, Alhaitham's constellations are just average - not a must-have, but also not that bad.

C1: Adds another big instance of Dendro DMG to Alhaitham's skill. Decent, but not that necessary.

C2: Decrease Alhaitham's skill cooldown whenever a Projection Attack hits an opponent. This effect can only be triggered when mirrors are on the field and have a 1s cooldown so not that useful.

C4: Alhaitham's best constellation - it supports both playstyles of Alhaitham:

  • Gives teammates 120 extra EM for 15s (after Burst combo)
  • Gives Alhaitham 30% extra Dendro DMG for 15s (after NA combo)

C6: Mainly supports Alhaitham's on-field DPS potential. He can gain a 20% crit rate and 140% crit damage for 12s by doing his NA combo.

3. Alhaitham's Best Weapon

Overall, similar to most 5-star characters in Genshin so far, Alhaitham will come out with his own signature weapon - Light of Foliar Sanction.

Alhaitham Signature Sword Light of Foliar Sanction
  • Base Attack: 44.34 - 541.83
  • Base Substat: Critical Damage 19.2% - 88.2%

Skill: Whitemoon Bristle

CRIT Rate is increased by 8/10/12/14/16%. When Normal Attacks deal Elemental DMG, the Foliar Sanction effect will be obtained, increasing DMG dealt by Normal Attacks and Elemental Skills by 120/140/160/180/200% of Elemental Mastery. This effect will disappear after 16 DMG instances or 12s. You can obtain Foliar Sanction once every 12s.

Best Alternatives

  • 5-star: Jade Cutter > Haran Geppaku Futsu> Mistsplitter
  • 4-star: R5 Harbinger of Dawn > R5 Black Sword > R5 Toukabou Shigure > R1 Black Sword > R5 Sapwood (passive dependent) > R1 - R5 Xiphos > R5 Iron Sting > R1-R5 Sapwood (passive inactive)

4. Alhaitham Best Artifacts

Deepwood vs Gilded

Players can use the Deepwood Memory x4 for Alhaitham if they are running him as the only Dendro character. However, if there are 2 Dendro characters on the team, have him use Gilded Dreams instead, putting Deepwood on the other Dendro char.

Artifact Stats

  • Sands: Elemental Mastery
  • Goblet: Dendro DMG Bonus / EM
  • Circlet: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
  • Priority Sub-Stats: CRIT DMG > CRIT Rate > Elemental Mastery > Energy Recharge

5. Genshin Impact Alhaitham Team Comps

Alhaitham's Burst

There are 3 types of Support Alhaitham can use - players can mix and match characters in these 3 categories to create a workable Alhaitham team, based on what they have.

Reaction support

Select the Sub-DPS based on the reaction that you want to trigger. If the player is doing a Bloom team, Xingqiu, Yelan or Kokomi would be great. A Spread team would need Fischl, Kuki Shinobu, or Dori.

Elemental Mastery support

Characters who can hold Deepwood, trigger Dendro Resonance, or boost Alhaitham's EM would be in this category. Nahida is best for the Dendro support slot, for Dendro resonance, EM/ER boost, and holding Deepwood. Collei, Dendro Traveler are also viable.

Kazuha can boost the team's EM if you have C2. Albedo's Burst also gives free EM - he can also occasionally trigger shields which Alhaitham needs.

Misc support (flex slot)

This slot is fairly flexible - players can put the ever-reliable Bennett here for Burgeon + Heal, Raiden Shogun for Burst damage + ER, or Zhongli for Shield. It is best to use characters who can react with Dendro, obviously.
