Genshin Impact Diluc Build Guide: Talents, Gears, Team Comps

Diluc is a Pyro Claymore character in Genshin Impact.  Diluc is a consistent Pyro DPS that deals powerful damage per hit and spreads Pyro easily. As he is one of the earliest characters released in Genshin, Diluc has been power crept a fair bit by newer characters. 1. Diluc Genshin Impact Overview

Diluc is from the affluent Ragnvindr Clan and is a nobleman of high esteem in Mondstadt society. He is the current owner of the Dawn Winery.

Strengths

• Can imbue his own weapon with Pyro for consecutive Elemental Reaction triggers.
• Elemental Burst has a huge area of effect, which is very useful in dealing with mobs.
• One of few characters whose CRIT Rate increases with Ascension.

Weaknesses

• Diluc has one of the lowest attack speeds in the game, which can be pretty annoying when his abilities are on cooldown.
• His combo is too simple and boring.

2. Diluc Constellations and Talent Priority

Constellations

Similar to other 5 star characters, Diluc's constellations are extremely powerful. However, with the low rate, it is highly unlikely that players would ever get more than C1 or C2. Diluc is actually perfect for this, as his best talents are C1 and C2.

• C1 - Diluc deals 15% more DMG to enemies whose HP is above 50%.
• C2 - When Diluc takes DMG, his Base ATK increases by 10% and his ATK SPD increases by 5%. Lasts for 10s. This effect can stack up to 3 times and can only occur once every 1.5s.

Overall, the two constellations are very simple - they just give Diluc raw stats. This results in a lot more damage without much effort. C2 still works if Diluc is under the effect of a shield, so having a shield generator in the team is not a bad idea.

Talent Priority

Diluc's Elemental Skill is his main source of damage - it can be cast three times consecutively. Therefore, maxing it first is a must. Afterward, players can either go for his Burst or normal attack, depending on Diluc's role in the team. As Diluc is a decent DPS character, maxing his talents out is not a bad idea.

3. How to use Diluc effectively

Diluc's combo is fairly simple - players only need to spam their elemental skill three times then use Burst when available. Use normal attack a few times in-between activations. As Diluc can apply Pyro multiple times, it is a good idea to have a support character casting a reaction skill beforehand. For example, Fischl's OZ and Xingqiu's Rainswords allow Diluc to trigger Vaporize and Overload repeatedly for high damage.

Takes Advantage Of Artifact Passive Skill

Diluc's Elemental skill works super well with the Crimson Witch Of Flames Artifact set, as each activation generates a charge. This means Diluc can get 37.5% bonus Pyro DMG from it right away to maximize the power of his Burst.

Enemies hit by Diluc's Elemental Burst will be knocked back once they're caught in it. You can use this to your advantage, whether to give yourself a breather or continue with your assault.

Interrupt enemies with Elemental skill

Diluc's Elemental Skill, Searing Onslaught, has the power to interrupt enemies with each of its hits. Players can time them to prevent enemies from attacking or casting certain skills.

Diluc is fairly flexible - he can be either the main or the sub DPS of the team, due to his simple combo. Players can just switch him in, swipe 3 times then Burst, then switch another character in.

Below are the best weapons and artifact sets for him:

Recommended weapon: Wolf's Gravestone (secondary stat: ATK%)

• Increases ATK by 20%. On hit, attacks against enemies with less than 30% HP increase all party members' ATK by 40% for 12s. Can only occur once every 30s.

Alternate weapons: Luxurious Sea-Lord, Serpent Spine, Skyward Pride, Prototype Archaic

Recommended artifact set: Crimson Witch Of Flames x4

• (2 piece) Pyro DMG Bonus +15%
• (4 piece) Increases Overloaded and Burning DMG by 40%. Increases Vaporize and Melt DMG by 15%. Using an Elemental Skill increases 2-Piece Set effects by 50% for 10s. Max 3 stacks.

Alternate artifacts: Crimson Witch Of Flames x2 + Gladiator's Finale x2. However, players still need to get the Crimson Witch set x4, as the bonus is a must-have for Diluc.

5. Best teams for Diluc

The Best teams for Diluc revolve around him being the main DPS with Vaporize and Melt. Players can definitely slot him into certain teams as a Burst Sub DPS, but that's not his ideal position.

Diluc Vaporize team

• Diluc + Xingqiu + Bennett + Sucrose

This is a lineup geared toward dolphin or F2p players, as all other characters except for Diluc are 4 stars. Xingqiu is the main support of the team, enabling Diluc's powerful skill and burst to trigger Vaporize with his Rainswords.

Bennett provides heal and ATK boost while Sucrose increases Diluc's reaction damage, which is his main source of DPS. Players can replace Sucrose with Kazuha, but Xingqiu and Bennett are alreaedy the most optimal characters.

Diluc Melt team

• Diluc + Ganyu + Kazuha + Diona

If players have powerful Cryo DPS characters like Ganyu or Ayaka, setting up a Melt team for Diluc is pretty easy. Similar to the previous lineup, they can run an extra support and one damage boost character like Sucrose or Kazuha.

It is also possible to run Xingqiu to have a hybrid between Melt, Vaporize and Freeze, however, the lineup would be very hard to use.
