Ayaka is a Cryo Sword character in Genshin Impact. Overall, she is a powerful DPS character, with multiple ways to apply Cryo from both her kit and her special sprint. Currently, she is one of the 7 best DPS in the game as of the 2.6 patch. In this article, Gurugamer.com is going to showcase a complete Genshin Impact Ayaka build guide.
Table of Contents
1. Ayaka Genshin Impact Overview
She is the oldest daughter of the Kamisato Clan and the younger sister of Kamisato Ayato.
Strengths
- High Base CRIT DMG.
- Easy Cryo Application with all her Talents.
- Her Elemental Burst has extremely high damage.
- Uses a special sprint that's useful for both exploration and combat.
Weaknesses
- Need proper stamina management to use Charged Attacks and Sprint in tandem.
- Her Elemental Burst has a high energy cost.
2. Ayaka Constellations and Talent Priority
Constellations
Similar to other 5 star characters, Ayaka's constellations are extremely powerful. However, with the low rate, it is highly unlikely that players would ever get more than C1 or C2. Her three power spikes are C1, C4 and C6:
- C1 - When Kamisato Ayaka's Normal or Charged Attacks deal Cryo DMG to opponents, it has a 50% chance of decreasing the CD of Ayaka's Elemental skill by 0.3s. This effect can occur once every 0.1s.
- C4 - Opponents damaged by Ayaka's Burst will have their DEF decreased by 30% for 6s.
- C6 - Ayaka gains a buff that increases her Charge Attack DMG by 298% every 10s. This buff will be cleared 0.5s after Ayaka's Charge ATK hits an opponent, which reset the cooldown.
C1 is probably the most valuable (and attainable) constellation. It allows Ayaka to recast her elemental skill much faster. With the Ayaka banner returning in 5 days (at the time of writing this article), it might be a good idea to pull for her C1.
Talent Priority
As Ayaka mainly deal damage with her normal and charged attacks, it is best to level them first to maximize her DPS. Afterward, go for her skill and finally her burst. As Ayaka is a DPS character, it is vital to max out all her abilities.
3. How to use Ayaka effectively
Use Alternate Sprint
Ayaka's special sprint is even more powerful than Mona. On top of the buff that allows her to move faster and dash along the water, Ayaka also releases a cryo blast when reappearing. Furthermore, Ayaka gets a short period of Cryo infusion.
To get the highest DPS out of Ayaka, use her Alternate sprint occasionally before and during engaging. This sprint also creates a cryo platform if players reappear over water. This allows Ayaka to move over water for as long as needed.
Elemental Skill Boosts normal/charged attack DMG
Ayaka's Elemental Skill, Kamisato Art: Hyouka, deals heavy AoE Cryo damage and launches smaller enemies upwards. After unlocking the 1st Ascension Passive, it would boost Ayaka's Normal and Charged ATK DMG by 30%. This is why players need to use this ability as soon as it is available to keep their DPS up.
Elemental Burst is very effective against bosses
Ayaka's burst deals multiple instances of Cryo DMG. The best part about it is that it doesn't pass through larger enemies, allowing you to deal more damage to them. This effect also affects Hydro and Electro shields.
4. Genshin Impact Ayaka Build
Ayaka build for Main DPS
This is the most common build for Ayaka, using all parts of her kit to create a powerful Cryo DPS.
- Recommended weapon: Mistsplitter Reforged
- Recommended artifact set: Blizzard Strayer x4
Alternatively, players can use the Primordial Jade Cutter, Blackcliff Longsword, The Black Sword, and Amenoma Kageuchi.
Ayaka build for sub DPS
However, if players want to play Ningguang as sub-DPS or support, they need to stack her up with energy regeneration gear and burst damage gear. In this build, Ningguang would only come out to cast her skill and burst.
- Recommended weapon: Mistsplitter Reforged
- Recommended artifact set: Blizzard Strayer x4/ Blizzard Strayer x2 + Noblesse Oblige x2
Alternatively, players can use the Primordial Jade Cutter, Amenoma Kageuchi or Favonius Sword.
5. Best teams for Ayaka
Ayaka mostly builds around the Freeze reaction in order to bring out the maximum potential of the Blizzard Strayer Artifact set, which provides up to a 40% Crit Rate boost. These team comps constantly utilize the Freeze reaction to control the course of the fight and deal Cryo damage to her opponents.
Ayaka main DPS team
- Ayaka + Xingqiu + Diona + Kazuha
This team revolves around Ayaka freezing enemies with support from Xingqiu's Hydro application. Diona is there to provide support and Cryo resonance for even higher crit chance. Kazuha is the flex unit whose job is to swirl Cryo to reduce enemies' resistance with the Venerer set.
Ayaka sub DPS team
- Ganyu + Ayaka + Kokomi + Venti
Ayaka can play second fiddle as a sub DPS if players already have powerful DPS characters such as Ganyu or Eula.
