Publisher Level Infinite, a Tencent label, and studio Gameloft have released Gangstar Mirage City, an open-world crime action game, on iOS and Android. The title became available on August 20, 2026, in select regions including Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, South Asia, Eastern and Central Europe, and Southeast Asia.

Open World Crime Empire Building

Players begin as small-time criminals in the near-future metropolis of Mirage City (also referred to in some materials as Rooklyn) and work to build a personal criminal empire. Progression involves completing story missions, capturing territories through battles with rival gangs, and expanding illegal businesses that generate income and influence. A unified net-worth system tracks overall success and unlocks better gear, vehicles, and perks.

Multiplayer Activities and Vehicle Combat

Multiplayer forms a core part of the experience. Players can team up for cooperative heists and missions, join PvP shootouts and crew battles, or take part in street races. Additional modes include objective-driven events such as Fight of the Bites, vehicle-focused activities like Taxi Takeover and Treasure Rush, survival challenges including Big Head Mode, and a battle royale-style option called Orarra Fight. The open world also features dynamic events and spontaneous street-level encounters that react to player actions.

Vehicle gameplay receives strong emphasis, with run-and-gun shooting combined with dedicated shoot-and-drive mechanics. Players can customize a wide range of cars, from supercars to armored vehicles, and use tools like the Digital Disruptor to influence nearby traffic. Combat includes both soft-lock and manual aiming options, while a notoriety system in free roam discourages excessive griefing of other players.

Background and Launch Details

The project originated under the working title Codename Crime: Vice Open World and was first revealed by Tencent in 2024. It underwent multiple rounds of closed and regional testing, including sessions in the Philippines, Indonesia, Canada, and the United States. Shortly before launch it received its official name and joined Gameloft’s long-running Gangstar series as a licensed continuation with heavier multiplayer focus than earlier entries. The game is free-to-play and supports multiple languages at launch.

Observers have described Gangstar Mirage City as a mobile counterpart to the style of GTA Online, blending open-world exploration, criminal progression, and online activities in a Cyberpunk-tinged setting. Pre-registration numbers exceeded 30 million in some reports, and early players who signed up before launch can claim rewards such as diamonds, vehicle upgrade vouchers, and exclusive skins. A full worldwide release has not yet been announced.

Gangstar Mirage City is now downloadable in the supported regions through the App Store and Google Play, giving mobile players a new sandbox for empire building, heists, and street-level chaos.
