Maps are one of the most important elements in battle royales, and Free Fire is not an exception to this rule.  Currently, there are three maps in the game: Bermuda, Purgatory, and Kalahari, each with a different approach to the BR formula. Amongst them, Bermuda is the indisputably best map in the game, with Kalahari and Purgatory often getting the short end of the stick.

In this article, Gurugamer.com would compare the designs of these two maps to find out which one is better between Kalahari Vs Purgatory.

1 - About Purgatory

Purgatory is just about the same size as Bermuda - but unlike Bermuda, it is not an island. The Purgatory area is just a coastal resort town, with both tourism (Mt. Villa, Ski Lodge, Golf Course) and normal industries (Forge, Lumbermill, Marbleworks, Quarry). The map's design is pretty unbalanced, with most of the named location being on the bottom side of the town.

A shallow waterway divides the peninsula into three parts - one with the Quarry and one with the Lumbermill. The terrain and flora on the map are fairly similar to Bermuda... with small hills dotted by a lot of bushes.

The most unique location on the map is probably the Moathouse, a building in the middle of the lake. This grants Purgatory an advantage in the comparison of Kalahari vs Purgatory.

2 - About Kalahari

Kalahari is Garena's take for the Desert Map in a battle royale - it is a great attempt to bring some actual new elements to the game. It is thematically much better than Purgatory, which is just another version of Bermuda.

The map is pretty unpopular due to the lack of covers and abundance of vantage points enabling snipers to run amok. You would probably like it you are a sniper player, of course.

The best part about Kalahari is that all of the locations on the island are unique. From a stranded sub on a cliff to a stranded sailboat in a lake (Santa Catarina) and even a giant skeleton of a long-dead sea monster (Mammoth)... all locations on the Kalahari map are unique.

3 - Which is the better map?

Overall, Kalahari is much more unique than Purgatory. It comes with a completely different theme and much better looking individual towns and attraction spots. Purgatory, on the other hand, is just a slightly different version of Bermuda.
