PUBG Mobile is here with yet another big update, bringing fresh changes to the battleground. It's part of the game's charm. The periodic updates have always been a major feature of PUBG Mobile, changing the game in one way or another. The last update, PUBG Mobile 1.1, first rolled out in November last year.

Now, the PUBG Mobile 1.2 update is just around the corner and will come live on 12th January. Let's check out all the new game modes upcoming in the future!

List of New Game Modes in PUBG Mobile 1.2 Update

According to the patch notes, PUBG Mobile will be adding three new game modes in the 1.2 update. They are Runic Power Gameplay, Power Armor mode, and Metro Royale: Honor. Read on for more details below:

Runic Power Gameplay (January 12th to March 7th)

In this mode, players can choose a Rune energy type on Spawn Island. Each Rune offers two unique skills to use. The Rune Abilities are as follows:

Flame Rune

  • Summon skill - Summons a wheel of flame that rolls slowly forward, dealing burn damage to enemies it touches.
  • Boost skill - Adds a burning effect to bullets for a short time.

Arctic Rune

  • Summon skill - Summons an ice wall, each block of the ice wall can be destroyed separately. When the ice wall appears, it lifts players or vehicles standing directly above them.
  • Boost skill - Adds a freezing effect to bullets for a short time (Freezing reduces the effectiveness of healing)

Wind Rune

  • Summon skill - Summons a semi-transparent shield of wind that reduces the damage from outside the shield.
  • Boost skill - Increases movement and reload speed.

Power Armor Mode (February 5th)

Respawn

  • Squad members can respawn at research stations.

Power Armor

  • Chest Piece: Reduces damage to the chest and increases backpack capacity.
  • Arm Piece: Reduces arm damage and increases melee damage.
  • Leg Piece: Reduces leg damage and fall damage. Gives access to a quick dash ability.
  • Assembling the full Power Armor Set: unlocks the ultimate weapon: the Dragon's Breath Grenade.

Matrix Events

  • #1 Matrix Event 1: Improved regional supply output.
  • #2 Matrix Event 2: Multiple Matrix airdrops providing significantly more supplies in each airdrop.
  • #3 Matrix Event 3: Activate Life Detectors in research stations, which can detect surrounding players.
