A recent leak from Team Mew has revealed some details about the upcoming changes to Genshin Impact's Treasure Compasses. According to the leak, HoYoverse intends to eliminate the light trails that currently guide players toward chests using the Treasure Compass. Instead, the updated gadget version will place a marker directly on the in-game minimap, indicating the chest's location. Additionally, the new feature will reportedly inform players if a chest is buried underground or submerged underwater.

The Treasure Compass update is set to debut alongside Genshin Impact 4.6, on April 24th. However, it is just one of many quality-of-life improvements introduced since Fontaine’s launch. Version 4.1 included a much-needed revamp of the game's Daily Commission system, providing alternative ways to progress beyond daily missions. And, the upcoming 4.6 version is anticipated to bring more changes, such as a redesigned world map and adjustments to the Serenitea Pot feature.

Alongside Genshin Impact's new quality-of-life improvements, Version 4.6 is expected to introduce a significant character as the latest playable member of the Fatui Harbingers, coming as a Pyro Sword character -  Arlecchino.

Arlecchino plays a key role in the main story of the Fontaine region and has long been rumored to become playable before her official announcement. With Arlecchino's debut, rumors of a new area to explore, and the promised quality-of-life enhancements, Version 4.6 of Genshin Impact holds much promise.
