Virtual Realms and Games Workshop have announced that they are teaming up to make Warhammer: Odyssey, an ambitious MMORPG that sees you embarking on a monster-slaying adventure through many iconic locations across the ‘Old World’. The game is said to have been built from scratch specifically for mobile, and it’ll be available for both Android and iOS at launch.
We won’t go too deep into the story, because honestly, if you have played any other mobile MMORPG before, then you already know what it’s like. It’s just the usual “the world is in danger, now mighty heroes must gather to save the day” cliché stuff.
Anyway, you will be able to team up with your friends to gradually work to drive back the forces of evil. This quest will take you to many iconic locations in the Warhammer universe, from Marienburg to Drakwald Forest to The Wasteland. There are reportedly hundreds of areas in total, each offering its own missions to complete and monsters to take down.
Warhammer: Odyssey will feature 6 classes with distinct characteristics. The Archmage can support allies and wreak havoc to the enemy with a wide range of offensive and defensive spells, while the Witch Hunter specializes in using lightning-fast attacks and devastating debuffs to bring opponents to their knees. Other classes include the Warrior Priest, the Shadow Warrior, the Engineer, and the Slayer. As far as playable races go, 3 will be available at launch: Human, elf, and dwarf. It seems there are quite a lot of customization options here.
The developers also promise to constantly keep the game updated with new content such as new locations, enemies, and bosses, so that’s another thing worth looking forward to.
At the moment, no exact release date for Warhammer: Odyssey is confirmed yet, but it’s probably relatively soon. We will be sure to let you know as soon as there is more information, so stay tuned. In the meantime, you can also visit the game’s official website for more details.
