Last month, when the second Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer hit the internet out of the blue, everyone lost it. Most of us were just glued to our screens, watching it over and over, picking apart every detail for hints about the game. But one super talented 16-year-old, FG_Artist (aka LegoMe_TheOG online), had a wilder plan: recreating the whole trailer, shot for shot, using only real LEGO bricks.
You can check out the finished video on YouTube and X, and it’s like watching some kind of wizardry.
From the wide-open views of Vice City to the quieter moments between Lucia and Jason, FG_Artist nailed every detail in that classic LEGO look we all recognize. FG_Artist said the project took just under a month to pull off, with most of the time spent rendering the video in 4K, not actually building or setting up the LEGO pieces.
Unlike other GTA 6 trailer 2 recreations, FG_Artist went all in on doing things by hand. Every frame was animated using physical LEGO models and real bricks. While they used procedural generation for some backgrounds, every little movement was carefully planned, and the transitions between scenes are so smooth they feel just like the original trailer.
Sure, AI can churn out cool stuff fast, but there’s something really special about seeing what pure human effort and talent can do.
Between this LEGO take on GTA 6 trailer 2 and their super detailed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse trailer remake that racked up millions of views, FG_Artist is clearly headed for big things.
Sadly, even though this trailer shows how awesome a LEGO-style Grand Theft Auto game could be, it’s probably not happening with LEGO or Rockstar Games.
Still, we can cross our fingers that this LEGO remake inspires modders to whip up a mod that lets fans play GTA in this brick-built style.
