There are hundreds of blocks in Minecraft, however, some are much more useful than others. They are called utility blocks and are needed for the most basic tasks in the game, such as brewing, crafting or smelting.
In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the top 5 most useful utility blocks in Minecraft 1.19 that players should get.
1. Crafting table
The crafting table is pretty much the single most important block in Minecraft. It is nearly impossible to complete the game without it - the block is pretty much the first thing players make after spawning.
Pressing use on a crafting table opens the 3×3 crafting grid that allows the player to craft many more items than are available with the crafting grid in the inventory, which is only 2×2.
This invaluable utility block can be created by using 4 wooden planks of any type.
2. Anvil
An anvil is a block that allows players to repair items, rename items, and combine enchantments. It is pretty expensive to craft, requiring three blocks of iron and four iron ingots.
However, players can enjoy a lot of benefits afterward, especially item repairing. While it is possible to repair items by combining two of the same thing together using the crafting table, it removes all the enchantments from the item.
Anvils don't have this issue. With the anvil, however, the target retains its enchantments and may gain new ones from the sacrificed items.
3. Furnace
A furnace is a utility block used for the smelting of blocks and items. Players need this block to smelt ores and cook food, which are essential in crafting items and survival.
Later on, players can upgrade to a Blast Furnace (for faster smelting) and Smoker (for faster cooking). These two blocks are also job blocks for armorers and butchers, which players can find in villages.
4. Chest
Chests are blocks used to store items and other materials. Besides ordinary chests, there are 3 other types of chests in Minecraft, each with a different look and additional features.
Standard storage chests in Minecraft come in either single or double varieties. They can be crafted fairly early on, using only 8x Wooden planks. A single chest has 27 slots to hold items, but a double chest has 54 slots. To create a double chest, all players need to do is to place two single chests next to each other.
Chests can be added to a donkey, a mule, or a llama. The number of slots an attached chest have is based on the carrying capacity of the animal. A chest attached to a donkey or mule has only 15 slots, and a chest attached to a llama has anywhere from 3 to 15 slots depending upon its "Strength" value.
5. Enchanting Table
An enchanting table is a block that allows players to spend their experience point levels to enchant tools, weapons, books, armor, and certain other items.
Players need a lot of effort to get an enchanting table up and running, but afterward, they would be able to get powerful items with special properties.
