Mojang just dropped their April Fools 2025 snapshot for Minecraft, called Craftmine. This time around, they’re letting players mess around with custom worlds—aka Mines—using all sorts of neat features. You’ll also need to unlock some perks and special abilities to keep things rolling in future Mines.

Since this update’s only sticking around for a bit, you should hop in and give it a spin before Mojang yanks it from the launcher. Here’s a rundown of the top features to try out in the Craftmine snapshot.

1) Set Stuff on Fire with Your Hands

In regular Minecraft, you’d need flint and steel to start a fire. But in Craftmine? There’s this awesome perk you can grab from the inventory menu that lets you light up anything with a punch. Unlock it, and you’re free to set blocks blazing in any Mine or even the main hub. Super fun stuff.

2) Roam the Main Hub in Creative Mode

First time jumping into a Craftmine world? It’s wild—think green Matrix-style text all around and a dark void, with you chilling on a stone platform next to a creepy green sculk shrieker. You can poke around the hub as is, but flipping on creative mode takes it up a notch. It’s off by default, but turn on commands, switch your game mode, and boom—you’re flying and smashing blocks for a seriously cool vibe.

3) Shazboots

Craftmine’s got some sweet abilities you can unlock, and Shazboots are a standout. Snag these from the perks page, and you’ll be sprinting crazy fast and jumping way higher—just hold the jump button. It’s a blast zooming through the hub or any Mine, covering ground in no time.

4) Get Some Unique Pets

Normally in Minecraft, you’re stuck taming a few basic mobs for pets. Craftmine switches it up—you’ve got to unlock a pet perk tree in the inventory GUI first. Once that’s open, you can start collecting spawn eggs for critters like polar bears, axolotls, frogs, cows, bees, and yeah, even armadillos. They’ll tag along and teleport to you, just like wolves or cats do in the regular game.

5) Whip Up All Sorts of Mines

The core thing to play with in Craftmine is building your own Mines—those are the custom worlds. When you load in, you’ll spot a green sculk shrieker block. Right-click it, toss in some Mine Ingredients you pick, and it’ll spit out a wild new world for you. Jump in, explore the chaos, and grab more ingredients to keep crafting new Mines.
