Nearly two minutes of footage labeled as a Persona 1 remake surfaced on October 31, 2026. The clip first appeared on YouTube under the account name P1REMAKE before spreading to Reddit’s r/GamingLeaksAndRumours and file hosts such as Gofile. Atlus and Sega have not confirmed or commented on the material.

The video is structured as an internal-style showreel, similar to the Persona 3 Reload footage that leaked ahead of its announcement. It is divided into three clear sections focused on gameplay and presentation:

  • Field exploration: The protagonist navigates hallways that match the layout of St. Hermelin High School, with movement and camera framing close to Tartarus in Persona 3 Reload.
  • Battle: Combat against Shadows features skill effects that resemble Theurgy attacks from Persona 3 Reload. Party members visible include the Persona 1 protagonist, Masao Inaba, and Eriko Kirishima.
  • Event scenes: Story moments are presented with 2D illustrations rather than fully modeled cutscenes.

The footage carries the subtitle Persona: Be Your True Mind, the original Japanese subtitle of the 1996 game. Unreal Engine debug text remains visible in the upper-left corner throughout, consistent with Atlus’s switch to Unreal Engine for Persona 3 Reload. Eriko Kirishima’s Persona summon animation matches the one used by Yukiko Amagi in the still-unreleased Persona 4 Revival, which is scheduled for February 18, 2027. Music and visual effects also align with Atlus’s recent presentation style.

One anomaly is the presence of Tatsuya Suou, the protagonist of Persona 2: Innocent Sin, during the battle segment. He does not appear in the original Persona 1. Observers have suggested he may be a temporary stand-in for an unfinished character model such as Masao, or that early work on a Persona 2 remake could be sharing assets.

The leak arrives during the Persona series’ 30th anniversary year. In earlier interviews, Atlus creative producer Kazuhisa Wada stated that remakes of the first two mainline games are something the team “should definitely do” and that “we have to do it.” No platforms, release window, or additional details have been provided. Until Atlus or Sega responds, the footage remains an unconfirmed rumor, though its length, technical markers, and reuse of unreleased Persona 4 Revival animation have led many to treat it as potentially legitimate internal material.
