Ananta System Requirements for PC and Mobile

Ananta is NetEase and Naked Rain’s upcoming free-to-play urban open-world RPG, formerly known as Project Mugen. It is built around two cities, Nova City and Chongxiao’s Lingyun City, with parkour, vehicles, jobs, squad combat, and a living city loop that mixes everyday life with supernatural cases.

Ananta PC system requirements

These are the specs most widely reported from TapTap.

Minimum PC specs

This tier is the “it should boot and run” line. Expect lower settings, 1080p, and uneven frame times in dense streets, crowds, rain, and combat. The 6GB VRAM floor is the part to take seriously. A 3GB or 4GB card in the same generation is a poor match.

Recommended PC specs

The recommended card and CPU look aimed at high settings and 4K, not at a normal 1080p session. Several write-ups make that same point: you do not need an RTX 3080 just to play. You need it if you want the top visual preset at a high resolution.

What the gap between 40GB and 100GB means

Minimum storage is 40GB. Recommended storage is 100GB. That usually means the base install is smaller, while the high-quality texture pack, extra city data, or later patches push the footprint toward 100GB. Plan for an SSD with room left over. An open-world city game that streams interiors, traffic, and vertical layers will hitch on a hard drive even if the raw file size fits.

Practical PC targets

Use the official list as bookends, then pick a target based on resolution.

1080p, low to medium
A GTX 1060 6GB or equivalent (RX 580 8GB, GTX 1660 Super) plus 16GB RAM should be the entry point. A newer budget card such as an RTX 3050 or RTX 4060 will be more comfortable and cooler.

1080p high or 1440p medium
Look at RTX 3060 / 4060 / 4070 class GPUs, 16GB to 32GB RAM, and a 6-core or 8-core CPU from the last few generations. This is the range most players should actually buy toward.

1440p high or 4K
This is where the official recommended spec lives: RTX 3080 class or better, 32GB RAM, and a strong multi-core CPU. An RTX 4070 Super, 4070 Ti, 4080, or 50-series equivalent is a more current stand-in for that 3080 target.

Laptops
Match desktop VRAM first. A 6GB laptop GPU can cover minimum 1080p. An RTX 4070 laptop or higher is a safer recommended analog than a low-TGP RTX 3080 laptop with 8GB. Keep the machine plugged in and use a MUX switch or Advanced Optimus if the laptop has one.

Other PC notes

• Windows 11 is not listed on the older TapTap card, but Steam already accepts Windows 10/11 64-bit. A current 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 install is the safe choice.
• DirectX 11 is the published API. That keeps older cards in play, but the final Steam build could still add a newer path.
• 16GB RAM is the official minimum. Leave 32GB as the comfort target if you browse, stream, or leave Discord and Chrome open.
• A closed technical test leak from early 2026 cited an RTX 3060, 8GB VRAM, an i7-10700 class CPU, and 60GB SSD. That was a test-build rumor, not the TapTap launch list. Do not treat it as the official requirement.

Official stores confirm the platforms. They do not yet publish a serious performance chart.

What the stores say today

• iOS: App Store compatibility is listed as iOS 12.0 or later on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. That is a store floor, not a promise that an iPhone 8 will run Nova City well. The current listing size is about 1.4GB, which points to a pre-registration package rather than the full client.
• Android: Pre-registration is live on Google Play. The public listing does not spell out a Snapdragon or Dimensity cutoff.

Realistic mobile expectations

Ananta is being built as a large 3D city with crowds, vehicles, interiors, and action combat. That is closer to a high-end mobile open-world title than to a typical gacha lobby game. Until NetEase posts a device list, use this as a planning guide, not as a guarantee.

Likely playable, lower settings

• Android: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 / Dimensity 8100 or 9000 class, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage
• iOS: iPhone 12 or iPhone 13, 60Hz, reduced resolution

Likely comfortable, higher settings

• Android: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or newer, Dimensity 9200 or newer, 12GB RAM
• iOS: iPhone 13 Pro, 14 Pro, 15, or newer, especially Pro models with better cooling and higher refresh rates

Community previews have pointed at a Snapdragon 8 Gen series phone and an iPhone 13 Pro as the kind of hardware the presentation seems to want. That matches the art style, but it is still unofficial.

Mobile storage and heat

Leave far more space than the App Store stub. A finished open-world client plus voice packs and updates can jump from a few gigabytes to 20GB or more after launch. Heat and throttling will matter as much as the chip name. A metal-framed flagship with a cooler will hold 60fps longer than a thin plastic phone with the same SoC.

Gamepads should work on both platforms once the full client is out. Steam already lists partial controller support for the PC build.

Can you play Ananta on both PC and phone?

Yes, that is the plan. The same January 15, 2027 date covers PC, PS5, iOS, and Android. Cross-save and account linking have been discussed in community tracking, but NetEase has not published a final cross-progression FAQ on the global site. If you care about moving a character between phone and PC, wait for the official launcher notes before you spend money on cosmetics.

Cloud play has been mentioned in community platform rundowns, including GeForce Now style services, but it is not a confirmed launch platform on the official English site the way Steam, PS5, iOS, and Android are.

How to check your PC before launch

1. Confirm Windows 10 or 11 64-bit.
2. Check GPU model and VRAM in Task Manager or NVIDIA/AMD control software. You want 6GB or more.
3. Check RAM. 16GB is the line. 32GB removes a common stutter source.
4. Install on an SSD. Leave at least 100GB free if you want high-quality assets later.
5. Update GPU drivers after the Steam page fills in the final spec card.
