CD Projekt Red released Update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077 on October 22, 2026. Called the Edgerunners 2 Update, it ties into the new Netflix anime season and adds free content focused on gameplay and Night City exploration. The update lands on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles, with the Switch 2 version following soon after.

The main draw is a new side quest called Clampdown. It takes place before the events of Edgerunners 2 and involves the team led by the character King. Players unlock it after completing The Heist and finishing two gigs for fixer Wakako Okada. Completing the quest rewards a five-piece gear set based on King, along with related cosmetics.

Other gameplay additions include:

  • Dual wielding for power pistols and revolvers through the new Double Trouble perk in the Cool skill tree. Players can fire weapons separately or together and mix different guns, including iconic weapons.
  • A new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, that plays 16 tracks from both seasons of the Edgerunners anime.
  • Cross-platform mod support powered by mod.io. Players can browse and install selected community mods from an in-game menu on supported platforms.
  • A field of view slider for console players.
  • Visual customization for cyberware such as gorilla arms and mantis blades at new glamdoc vendors.
  • New clothing sets available from vendors in districts including Heywood, Arroyo, Little China, City Center, Kabuki, and Japantown.

Photo mode also gains new frames based on the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game and additional poses that highlight dual-wielding. These changes expand combat options and customization without requiring a full expansion purchase.

The update arrives just after Edgerunners 2 premiered on Netflix with all ten episodes available. It continues CD Projekt Red's pattern of supporting Cyberpunk 2077 years after launch with free content that expands how players move through Night City and fight in its streets. Dual wielding and the new quest give returning players fresh reasons to load back in, while mod support opens the door to more player-created content across platforms.
