GTA Online first launched in 2013 and has had many updates and changes over the years to keep the game fun and balanced. Still, there’s always room to make it even better.
In GTA Online, players can listen to the radio while driving or near a radio in a building, but not while walking around. Reddit user GovernmentOfficiaI noted how strange it is that characters can wear earbuds but can't use them to listen to the radio. Adding this feature seems like a simple improvement and could make missions and heists more exciting by letting players choose their own soundtrack. This would be especially fun for fans who use Self Radio to play their own music in the game.
GTA Online Needs a Radio Upgrade
Many players have noted that other games, like Watch Dogs 2, the Saints Row series, and Cyberpunk 2077, let players listen to in-game radio stations anywhere, making GTA Online feel like an exception. Since characters always carry a phone, it would make sense to stream the radio or play personal tracks on it. Many fans would welcome this change, as some are tired of the repetitive mission soundtracks and have started turning off the game’s audio to use their own external music instead.
The in-game radio can already be accessed through the settings menu and mission setup screens, so adding this feature to regular gameplay doesn't seem overly complicated. However, many fans doubt it will be added to the current version of GTA Online. While the game recently received a content update with new missions, vehicles, and a business to purchase, most players believe the development team is focused on getting GTA 6 ready for launch. At the very least, players hope this feature will be included in GTA 6.
