The Rite of the Pollip in Hollow Knight Silksong is a task you pick up from Greyroot, an NPC chilling near the heart of the Shellwood area. Your job is to track down six Pollip Hearts, which you get by smashing big purple flowers spread across Shellwood. If you’re struggling to find them, this walkthrough will point you in the right direction for this Hollow Knight Silksong quest.
To get to all the Pollip Hearts, you’ll need to beat Sister Splinter first to unlock the wall grab ability, known as Cling Grip. This skill opens up tons of new spots in Shellwood, including where the Pollip Hearts are hiding. For the easiest route, start at Greyroot’s hut. Here’s where to find each one:
First Pollip Location
From Greyroot’s hut, do some platforming across the room to reach the top-right corner. You’ll spot the first Pollip Heart there, ready to grab.
Second Pollip Heart
Head right from the first location, moving through a tall vertical room toward Bellhart’s entrance. The next Pollip Heart is in the top-right corner, but a Pollip Hive guards it. Take out the hive first to claim the heart.
Third Pollip Location
Go back to the vertical room and head into the room above the second heart’s spot. Drop down from the left ledge and smash the breakable wall below to find the flower. Break it to snag the Pollip Heart.
Fourth Pollip Location
Return to the vertical room again and slip into the top-left room. Halfway through, you’ll see a small lake with flowers floating on it. Use a pogo move on the flowers to reach the ceiling, where the Pollip flower is stuck. If the pogo’s tricky, equip the Wanderer’s Crest to make it smoother.
Fifth Pollip Location
After grabbing the fourth heart, drop down and head left into the room where you got the Cling Grip. On the left wall, there’s a small nook with the Pollip flower inside. Break it to collect the heart.
Sixth Pollip Location
The final Pollip Heart is the toughest to reach. In the same room, go to the top-right corner and move past the arena where you fought Sister Splinter. Use the flowers ahead to wall grab up to a previously out-of-reach area. Keep climbing the pillars, then head to the bottom-left corner. There, you’ll need to destroy another Pollip Hive—using the Silkspear ability makes it quicker. Once it’s gone, a hidden passage opens, leading straight to the last Pollip Heart. With all six in hand, head back to Greyroot to turn them in for a new combat tool.
Rite of the Pollip Wish Reward
When you hand over the Pollip Hearts, Greyroot rewards you with the Pollip Pouch, a blue tool that adds fast-acting poison to your weapons. It’s super handy for taking on tough bosses like Moorwing and Skull Tyrant, especially in challenging Hollow Knight Silksong boss fights. Plus, you’ll unlock the next quest, Rite of Rebirth Wish, which sends you to fetch something from the Exhaust Organ, a new area that opens up in Act 2 of the game.
