In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, there are many small details that can lead to useful rewards. One of these is bird nests, which you’ll often see in trees along main roads.
At first glance, a bird nest might not seem important, but knocking one down lets you collect useful items like lockpicks or even valuable jewelry. While you can shoot them down with a bow and arrows, arrows are expensive, and missing your shot wastes them. Luckily, there's a free and easy way to knock down bird nests by throwing rocks.
How to Knock Down Bird Nests with Rocks
The easiest and cheapest way to knock down a bird nest is by throwing rocks at it. To do this, follow these steps:
- Crouch down to prepare your throw.
- Hold the throw button for your platform:
- PlayStation - R1
- Xbox - RB
- PC - G
- Aim carefully and release the button to throw the rock.
Since you can pick up and throw an unlimited number of rocks, you don’t have to worry about missing. However, rocks don’t always fly exactly where your aiming reticle points, so it may take some practice to get the right angle.
Tips for Better Accuracy
- Rocks usually land slightly down and to the right of your aim, so try aiming a little up and to the left of the nest.
- Get as close to the tree as possible while crouching. This reduces the distance the rock has to travel, making it easier to hit the target.
- Be careful where you throw! Hitting someone with a rock can get you in trouble.
Collecting the Loot
Once you knock down the nest, watch where it lands—it can roll quite far, especially on a slope. Bird nests also respawn after a few in-game days, so you can return later to farm more valuable items.
By practicing your rock-throwing skills, you’ll be able to knock down bird nests easily and gather useful loot without spending a single coin on arrows!
