How To Unlock the Exclusive Yeti Outfit in GTA Online

The Yeti Hunt is a limited-time holiday event in GTA Online, returning for the 2025 festive season. It challenges players to track mysterious clues in the snowy wilderness of Blaine County, culminating in a fierce boss fight against the Abominable Snowman itself. Completing the hunt rewards you with the unique Yeti Outfit, which appears in your wardrobe under the "Outfits: Festive" section and can be worn anytime.

Prerequisites

Play in a session where the event is active (public, invite-only, or solo recommended for safety).
Bring heavy weapons: Minigun, RPG, Sticky Bombs, Grenades, or Heavy Revolver Mk II with FMJ rounds for maximum damage.

Step 1: Trigger the Yeti Hunt

Travel north in Blaine County to the wilderness area between Fort Zancudo and Paleto Bay, near the base of Mount Chiliad.
Upon arrival, you'll receive a text message from Tanner (an in-game contact) about investigating a creature in the woods.
A large circular radius will appear on your map, marked with a central question mark icon. This is your search area - stay within it.

Step 2: Collect All 5 Yeti Clues

Approach each clue to hear a heartbeat sound and tense music, then interact (press Right on D-Pad or equivalent) to investigate. Each clue nets $10,000 cash and 1,000 RP.

3	Car Wreck	East of the center, below a road bend or abandoned bridge. Jump down to find a rusted, toppled vehicle crashed against a tree.
4	Bloody Tent	Northwest dirt road in the radius. Spot a blue tent with a red sleeping bag and blood stains nearby, surrounded by camping gear.
5	Torn/Bloody Shirt	North of the center, along a dirt road into a ditch. Next to a destroyed vehicle, a white shirt soaked in blood.

Pro Tip: Use a map overlay from community guides (search in-game or browser) for visual pins. Clues are fixed and respawn if missed.

Step 3: Spawn and Defeat the Yeti

After collecting all 5 clues, advance in-game time to between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM (use your phone's clock or sleep in a safehouse).
The Yeti spawns randomly within the circle, marked by a red skull icon on your minimap. It roars and charges at high speed.
Fight: Keep distance, dodge its grabs (it one-shots if it catches you), and unload explosives or rapid-fire weapons. 4 Sticky Bombs + 1 RPG or sustained Minigun fire works best.
If killed, respawn and wait 24 in-game hours for respawn.

Rewards

$50,000 from clues ($10k each).
$50,000 + Yeti Outfit from killing the Yeti.
Total: $100,000 + permanent festive outfit.

Tips and Tricks

Solo Safety: Do this in an Invite-Only session to avoid griefers.
Positioning: Climb high ground (e.g., with a Nightshark) where the Yeti can't reach, then snipe it down.
Weapons Loadout: Stock up on ammo beforehand. Explosives melt its massive health pool.
Time Management: Force night time quickly by entering a building and canceling sleep.
Repeat?: Outfit unlocks once per account per event year; no redo for cash/outfit.
Snowy Weather: Enhances immersion but not required.
