Minecraft’s 15th Anniversary: Explore Another Free Map

From May 15 to 29, Minecraft players can enjoy free daily items, each celebrating a different year of the game's history. Additionally, they can claim a special TikTok-themed cape until June 18 and earn another exclusive cape by watching 15 minutes of Minecraft content on Twitch. Players who subscribe or gift a subscription to a Minecraft streamer on Twitch will receive a special mask. The 15th-anniversary festivities also include another free download for Minecraft players.

As part of Minecraft's 15th anniversary celebrations, a new free map has been released. Created by Oreville Studios, the "15 Year Journey" map is available for download at no cost from the Marketplace, exclusive to Bedrock Edition players. This in-game "museum" allows players to explore exhibits highlighting notable moments from Minecraft's history and participate in minigames, including a Nether-themed platform challenge and an Ender-inspired Elytra race. Additionally, players can engage in a puzzle-based challenge to unlock the alpha version of Minecraft.

Previously, the developers released another free Minecraft map created by the community's mapmakers to celebrate Minecraft Realms' 10th anniversary. Additionally, Bedrock Edition players can now claim a new free avatar item in the Dressing Room: a pair of Toe Guardians slippers. These slippers, inspired by the aquatic mobs from update 1.8 that guard the ocean monuments, are available to equip on their characters.

Although Minecraft predominantly appeals to a younger audience, its allure extends beyond age barriers, captivating players of all generations, including loyal fans who have been there since the beginning. As the 15th-anniversary celebrations of Minecraft draw to a close, anticipation mounts within the community for the highly awaited major update, Tricky Trials, slated for mid-2024. Excitement builds even further amidst speculation surrounding Minecraft's potential launch on Steam, hinting at an opportunity to introduce the cherished game to an even broader audience.
