For over three years and a half, Streets of Rogue has always been in the making. The game only has one developer, which is Matt Dabrowski. And now, with the help of tinyBuild, Dabrowski can finally publish Streets of Rogue.
The game has been in early access for PC for quite some time. During this time, it has been getting a lot of positive feedback.
Earlier today, tinyBuild and Dabrowski have made an official announcement about the launch date for this rogue-lite/immersive sim. You can check it out in the trailer below.
According to the game’s description, it’s a combination between the original Deus Ex and the Binding of Isaac. The game mixes rogue-lite progression with “free-form, experimentation-driven, emergent gameplay”.
This allows you to play Streets of Rogue exactly how you want to. The potential experiences vary from controlling a gorilla with hyper intelligence that sets other gorillas free and builds up his own gorilla army, to becoming bartender with an amazing charisma who can smooth-talk his way through any situation.
In Streets of Rogue, you can do not only that but actually a lot more.
In the game, you can also find an entirely randomized city to play through. This is to make sure that there will be no two identical playthroughs. Additionally, Streets of Rogue has a wide range of items for you to customize the loadout of your own.
All of those means that the replayability of Streets of Rogue seems to be considerably high. Furthermore, the developer appears to be really committed to keeping on adding more to this game well once it releases.
Streets of Rogue has a four-player mode for playing locally or online. The game only has one downside that it doesn’t support cross-play. Therefore, if you are playing with you PS4, your teammates will have to do exactly the same.
Starting from July 12, the game will be available for Xbox One, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch and Mac.
