The Last of Us Part 1 (TLOU P1) is going to come out on PC on March 28, 2023. To prepare for the release, Sony and Naughty Dog have detailed all the specs you'll need to have to be able to run the game.

In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the complete System requirements for TLOU P1 and all of its new features in comparison with the console version.

System requirements

At the bottom 'Minimum' end of the scale, players can expect 30fps at 720p using the Low preset on a Radeon 470 or GTX 970/1050 Ti, while players able to match Sony's Recommended specs can anticipate 60fps at 1080p using the High preset. And finally, right at the 'Ultra' end - where an RX 7900XT or Nvidia RTX 4080 is advised - 60fps at 4K using Ultra preset should be possible. It's worth noting, too, that The Last of Us Part 1 requires a fairly significant amount of SSD real-estate at 100GB, regardless of settings.

As expected from a Sony title, players with DualSense controllers will be able to enjoy TLOU P1 with its full specific haptic feedback features. Anyone with a wide monitor will also be happy to hear that there will be ultra-wide monitor support for both 21:9 Ultrawide and 32:9 Super Ultrawide aspect ratios.

Still one of the best games ever made and now it looks and plays better than ever. It has awesome graphics, awesome animations, breathtaking environments, smooth transitions between gameplay and animations, great touch and feels with the Dualsense®, great improvement of lighting, camera options and accessibility features.

If you never played this game before you're in for an amazing experience. If you have played it before, it is like revisiting something you loved over again.

Is TLOU Part 1 a good remaster?

Overall, there is so much detail poured into the remaster - they've improved the gameplay tremendously.

TLOU Part 1

Prior to this release, I played The Last of Us two or three times (the original on PS3 and the PS4 remaster). I've always liked the game but not loved it. I believe I had higher hopes originally for a survival horror game, whereas this was more like a dramatic action game. But on this new version, I feel the survival elements a lot more strongly.

The AI is much better programmed - the companions do a better job of sticking with you, being helpful and not looking stupid; and the enemies feel more aggressive. You can't just sit back in a fight, you will get flanked.

I like the rush of the combat. The feeling of popping off a lucky headshot when an enemy is just about to hit you -- this sort of thing happens often. It's very much in their design to have these "lucky" feeling moments, and yet they feel so visceral and cinematic. The whole game is a wonderful balance of cinematic and gameplay. It's super engaging.

The production design is so good that it immerses you in the world, and then the gameplay hits harder. This game is firing on all cylinders. It's a master class. I have officially come around on The Last of Us and am happy to admit it's one of the best games I've ever played. This remake polished it to a point where I really enjoy the game and just see the good things about it.
