The upcoming upgraded version of the award-winning Indie game 'The Stanley Parable', named 'The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe', was first announced to be released in 2019. However, as the year of 2019 is coming to an end, with no further announcement was made, many have expressed their doubt that the game would not be able to be finished this year. And earlier today, the developers of this game have confirmed that fact - that this game will be delayed to 2020.
However, the announcement was made in a really funny way - that is by releasing a lengthy video featuring the game's narrator allegedly responding to letters and emails from the fans (Although, all those emails and letters are unlikely to be real.
You could take a look at the announcement video below:
According to the developers, people are asking for more endings and content when the game first came out. And due to the fact that the developers themselves also think that the game is incompleted, so they have planned for the Ultra Deluxe version of the game. This version came with more content, of course, and more endings, with a bunch of choices for you to make throughout your journey.
However, the problem is that developing more scenarios for this game takes a lot of time - so the game got delayed and cannot meet its expected release date in late 2019. Instead, the devs will now aim for a Summer 2020 release date, maybe sooner, but that depends on how well the development process goes.
Another news is that the Crows Crows Crows studio is also working on porting the game to consoles, and that might be one of the reasons for the further delaying the game.
The Stanley Parable is now available for PC via Steam. The upgrade version will be released in 2020.
